[[underline]]NIGHT IN A HOUSE-BOAT[[end underline]]:-28 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:32. Second week. Advance hand. Went just as big as ever. Running much smoother and got all parts of the house, bringing up to a brilliant finish. Sure to go better this week than last.

[[underline]]MATTHEWS & ASHLEY[[end underline]],Comedians;- 20 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 10:00. Advance hand. There is very little variation from their last appearance here. introduced some new songs and parodies, all of which were good. Well received throughout. Closed strong, with two curtain calls.

[[underline]]PAUL CONCHAS[[end underline]], Military Hercules:- 20 min. F.S. 2 shows on at 10:40.. This is certainly a great closing feature. Conchas not only does some remarkable feats of strength and skill, but this whole setting of the act is unique and pleases the audience from the first. He performs about the same feats that he did previously, but the comedy of his man is greatly improved, and wins constant laughter. This is a great relief to the regulation strong-man act. Conchas will draw strong this week, particularly with the German element. Big finish,

MAKING OF A MODERN NEWSPAPER:- This is a local film, illustrating the evolutions of the newspaper. It starts with a scene of Benjamin Franklin's printing shop, with the old Washington hand-press, and the living portrait of Franklin and his proof-reader in Colonial dress. It proceeds thence to a series of pictures taken at the establishment of the Philadelphia Record, including the type-setting machines, the big presses, &c. The film was originally 22 minutes long, but was cut down to 12 minutes. It now makes an interesting feature. "The Record" has given us big advertising space and will continue to do so for the balance of the week.

[[underline]]THE GREGSONS[[end underline]],S.& D.:- 14 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 6:27. The best thing about this act is the costuming of both man and woman, and the work of the woman. The male part is not very brilliant and just about gets by. Mild hand. Could hold only an obscure spot on any bill.

[[underline]]CHEFALO & CAPRETTA[[end underline]],Magic:- 18 min. F.s. 3 shows. On at 6:41. The regulation magic act, although a little better dressed than usual. The young lady assistant makes a very fetching appearance. nothing in the way of a novelty in slight-of-hand, but manages to get by very well.

[[underline]]GERTRUDE BLACK[[end underline]],Voc:- 13 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 6:59.Makes good appearance, sings popular songs. Good little 3-a-day for straight singing.

[[underline]]MEEH INTERNATIONAL TRIO[[end underline]],Gymn:- 10 min. F.S. 3 shows. on at 7:42. This is a very good 3-a-day strong man act.All three men are fine athletes. Use regulation paraphenalia including heavy dumb-bells, rings and weight-lifting devices. This act could be used effectively as an opener anywhere.The device with the rings supported on the heavy-weight's shoulders while two men perform feats on the rings is particularly brilliant feat.

[[underline]]GENERAL REMARKS[[end underline]]:- This show seems to please everybody. it is well balanced and the press is particularly favorable. In spite of a strong opposition bill, we shall go big business for the balance of the week.
