Phila.- 3. [[underline]]KINETOGRAPH[[end underline]]: POOR LITTLE PIG:- Very good comedy series. VICTORIA FALLS, Xambesi River, Africa:- One of the best travel films we have ever shown. THE STILT RACE:- A good comedy film taken in Germany and shows the perfection of moving-picture taking, as there is not the slightest quiver in the pictures and every one of them is beautifully sharp and clear. Altogether the KINETOGRAPH series this week is strong enough to hold them after the last act. [[underline]]ALPHA TRIO[[end underline]],Hoop-rollers:- 16 min. F. S. 3 shows. On at 6:42. This act is much improved since its last appearance here. It is now one of the best-dressed and most skilful hoop acts in the business. Two men and a woman, one of the men works comedy. They use a dark back drop which heightens the effect of the brilliantly painted hoops. Some of their stunts are absolutely new. Would make a very good opener for any house. [[underline]]BEN REINHOLD[[end underline]], Mono:- 12 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 6:58. This man suffered a distinct fall-down. He has neither voice nor delivery to hold an audience. His line of stuff is only fairly good, but the man absolutely lacks personality. Once in a while the audience tittered a little, but he could not get his audience at all. Gallery started to guy him. Closed very weak. Will be buried forthwith. The man who put this act on at Philadelphia aught to be punished. [[underline]]C E N T R A L REMARKS[[end underline]]: Every body agrees that this is a strong show. It has many brilliant features, abundant comedy and music of the highest order. Compared with the opposition show it is an arch-light to a tallow-dip, and the public will be on to it before the week is half over. There was no act discounted, with the exception of REINHOLD, and two or three exceeded expectations. With practically two holidays this week (Election-day and Saturday) we look for strong ledger accounts on the big side. CUTS AND OBJECTIONS: BEN REINHOLD:- "Wilson Whiskey"- "Winslow's Soothing Syrup"- and other advertising matter. Also "Snore and you sleep alone". REDFORD AND WINCHESTER:- throwing prop apples into the audience,tied on to tray. LALLA SELBINI:- "My breeches are comin doon"- from little comedian. "after my sister takes an hour to get some clothes on-- etc.". FREDERICK BROS. & BURNS:- The word "Hell."
