225 H. A. Daniels. Cleveland, Ohio. Feb. 10 '08 WILTON BROS.- Did not show up. Said they were not notified. MURRAY SISTERS- Two clever girls from Cleveland. Sister act a little out of the ordinary. Went very well in this spot. Gibson Girl and Fluffy Ruffles songs went big. Drop in one. 15 min. MACARTE'S MONKEYS- One big scream. The two monkeys that danced the "Merry Widow" waltz are a knockout. More fun than in any animal act I have played in years. F. S. 16 min. CHAS. SEMON- "The Narrow Fellow". Act is well known. Went big. Open and close in one. 24 min. WORLD & KINGSTON- Tramp and Soubrette. Act is well known. Always pretty good. Same stuff they have always done. Open and close in one with special drop in 2 1/2. 25 min. BIJOU FERNANDEZ- Assisted by two men, Mr. Carl Eckstrom & Mr. Morris Franklin, in a sketch entitled "Captain Velvet". The scene is laid in Southern California, near the Mexican Border. The action of the play is intensely dramatic, with outlaws, half-breeds, assassins, etc; the company is well chosen, and the characters well cast, and the little act commands the closest attention. Kitchen set in three. 21 min. Received four curtain calls. The ending of the sketch is a surprise and the action is wholly unexpected. The audience wanted more at the finish. LILLIAN SHAW- The Ghetto Girl. Singing character songs. About the same stuff she has always done. Started in to guy the people in the boxes today. You would think that a girl who had been on the circuit as long as she has would know better. Act went well. Drop in one. 20 min. POWELL-COTTRELL Bareback riding. Two horses. Man and woman do acrobatic stunts on horse back. A closing act, but did not work nearly as well as when I saw it at the New York Hippodrome. KINETOGRAPH-
