PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JULY 11th 1 PATHE NEWS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Very good. W. HORLICK & SARANPA SISTERS - (10 mins.) A very good dancing act by a man and two girls. Routine of Russian dancing, closing with an eccentric dance that took them off to a very big hand. Closed strong in the opening position. TUCK & CLAIRE - (11 mins.) A two man comedy acrobatic turn. Clever acrobats and inject a little comedy into their turn. Did very well in this spot. FRANCIS RENAULT - (15 mins.) A good sized applause hit, finishing very strong with a series of female impersonations, closing with a dance number that took him off to a big hand. Wears some wonderful gowns. EDWARDS-ORMSBY & CO. - (22 mins.) The makings of a good singing act but it is not working very smoothly at present. The girls have good voices and the act is nicely presented but they are not getting the full value out of it and went only fair. FRISCO - (28 mins.) Got over very well, getting a very warm reception. He got some laughs with his talk but it slowed up the act. The dancing of Eddie Cox is a big help and the act closed very strong. Friscoe took two or three extra bows and finished with a speech. AILEEN STANLEY - (16 mins.) She cleaned up the biggest kind of a hit with her songs despite the fact that she was suffering severly with hoarseness. She did several numbers, scoring big with every one, but when she finished she was in such condition that she was compelled to leave the bill after the first show. HARRY WATSON - (19 mins.) A great repeater for us and one of the big hits of the show. Act unchanged from when we played it, but it is a great comedy not for any bill. AL HERMAN - (13 mins.) Scored a big hit with about the same sort of material he has always used. He is assisted by two men who sing from one of the boxes. Got a lot of laughs and closed strong. FOUR LAMY BROS. - (5 mins.) One of the best casting acts we play and it made an excellent closing number for this bill, holding the audience in and closing to a big hand. AESOP'S FABLES - (7 mins.) This week's series was fine furnishing a good laughing number. They were moved up to take Aileen Stanley's place after the first show. GENERAL REMARKS - This is a great summer show and went over very strong with a good sized house. There is an abundance of good names so that it should draw. As the show is plenty long no act was secured in Miss Stanley's place. CUTS FRISCO - do not use the word "Devil". Also Eliminate "Bryant 7700 Ask for Evelyn." AL HERMAN - Use "She has a chauffer" instead of "She keeps a chauffer Do not mention the name of any local hotel. Eliminate "Indian Guide" or any reference to Stillman case.
