PROVIDENCE E. F. ALBEE NOVEMBER 21, 1921 We have a fairly good bill this week and considering the cost it pleased mighty well indeed. Considering the Holiday, I believe we will do as well with this program as we would have done with a much more expensive one. The audiences were pleased at both of the Monday performances, some of the acts scoring very big hits, none of them failing. The Providence Journal, this morning, treated us exceptionally well, which indicates the the show gave general satisfaction. CHARLES LOVENBERG ANITA DIAZ'S MONKEYS - I never cared a great deal for this act, its entertainment coming more from what the monkeys do impromptu rather than through any trained tricks. It makes a good presentation and pleases the children, in that way serves its purpose. 10 minutes full stage. PEGGIE CARHART - Violinist. Not the best of those that we have had by any means, in fact, the lady was something of a disappointment. LILLIAN & ANNA ROTH - Two precocious little girls who have an entertaining skit which pleased generally, but I believe the children are entitled to a better vehicle than their present one, as they have plenty of ability but are somewhat handicapped by material. Nevertheless, they went very well indeed, finishing with strong applause. 17 minutes; open full stage, have a very short close in one. NEWHOFF & PHELPS - Man and woman in an act of singing mostly unpublished songs. They get them over very well indeed, and pleased the audiences in every way. 20 minutes in one. ROGER IMHOFF & CO. In the sketch that he has played for us not the third time but was received with uproarious laughter throughout. 34 minutes full stage. YVETTE RUGEL - Miss Rugel is possitively the most satisfying singer of her class we have in vaudeville. She scored an unmistakable hit, the audiences seeming not to be able to have enough of her. 20 minutes in one. KANE & HERMAN - Two men in an original idea of presenting a talking act, introducing a couple of songs. Went very well in this spot although not a great big hit. It would probably do better a little earlier in the bill. Not a failure by any means. 15 minutes in one. THE THREE REGALS - Three men in a picturesque presentation, made up as blacksmiths in which they perform feats of strength and iron jaw work. A good act. 8 minutes full stage.
