1 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week 14, 1904. (Charles Devenberg) An eminently satisfactory bill and one that it would be ve to improve upon. With the exception of the first two acts any act on the bill could be placed in an important position on the program. Prior Brothers. Musical artists singers and dancers. These boys do a fair act. As far as the three a day acts go, they may be classed as fairly good. They play upon banjos, mandolins, harmonicas, and give some little singing, and wood shoe dancing. It is all right in an early position on the bill. 12 min. open in 2, close in one, although the entire act might be done in 1, 2 shows. Howard & Linder. Can only say for this act that it is as bad as ever, and to this audience one of the poorest that we play. 14 min. open in 3, can close in one, 3 shows. Leipsic. Slight of hand performer. His manipulations of coins cards, balls, etc, are as good as any that we ever played and his address and manner are very agreeable. Strong enough to be placed down in the middle of any show. . 15 min. in one, 3 shows. Roberts, Hayes & Roberts. In their well known comedy sketch introducing some very good dancing. There is not a great deal to the act other than the ridiculousness of Robert's make-up as an infant and his Texan tactics. They have a hurrah finish and leave to great applause. 20 min. open in 3, with about 3 min. in one, 2 shows. Parker's Dogs. A very acceptable dog act; as good as most that we get. 13 min. with full stage, 2 shows.Johnson & Wells. Well known colored couple who do not seem to go as well, in this house, as most of the other colored acts. They fall very much short of the Brittons, Harper, Desmond & Bailey and some others, although the act is a safe one to play. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. Rio Brothers. In their usual muscular work upon the rings, which is well known over the circuit, and which, I should class as very good. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Dave Nowlin. This man's personality and the few little tricks that he has carry him through safely although he didn't go this afternoon quite as strong as he did before. I believe that is because he has a more important position on the bill than on his last visit; however, I should call it a good act. 14 min. in one, 2 shows. Cressy & Dayne. In "A Village Lawyer". Their popularity was well demonstrated and they were today one of the hits of the show. 23 min. full stage 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. H. C. Watrous. Vocalists. These people do a very clean and talkin[?] taking turn. The man is an especially good singer, and the woman has a very nice voice. Our audience hare were quick to recognize their work and they made a decided hit. 10 min. in one, 2 shows. Henri Humberti. Juggler and balancer. As this act was described very recently by Mr. Hogdon, I need not go into detail further than to say he made good thoroughly and to my mind, his act was as good as any of its kind that we have ever played, especially because of the novelty manner of presentation. 14 min. full stage, 2 shows. James J. Morton. He comes to us this time with an entire new list of stuff and made good from his entrance to his close. Surely as good a monologuist as any one we have had this season. 17 min. in one, 2 shows.
