83 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE,PHILA., PA. JUNE 13TH. 83 BYRNE & WEST-17 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Man and woman, in a sketch, entitled "An Evening Call." Billed as a rural comedy sketch. Not very funny. No harm as an opening act to fill in time. BARTO & LAFFERTY-12 mins. in One-Boy and girl, singing and dancing duo. Good lively act for the three-a-day section. Got by without any difficulty and made good in their position. BROWN & [EMERY?]-15 mins, in One-Two colored men. Act was put in to fill in 39 minutes of time on the bill, that figured up that much shy on Saturday. Make-up and work in imitation of Williams & Walker. Good colored act for the three-a-day section. BLANCHARD & WOOD-23 mins.-Two Door Plain in 2-Man and woman, in a comedy sketch, entitled "The Boss of the House." The dialogue in spots is a bit "off" for the audience here, and will have to be toned down. Not by any means in the two-a-day class. REIDY & CURRIER-11 mins.-C.D.F. in 2 1/2-close in One-Man and woman, singing sketch. There's a little dialogue between the songs, just enough to give an excuse for singing. Singing is fair and the audience seemed to like it. Their closing song went best and sent them off nicely. Good three-a-day act. LA VERN & CROSS-12 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Two men, acrobats, received advanced applause on their entrance. For this house, one of the best three-a-day acrobatic acts in vaudeville. Went well, with frequent applause throughout. Very good three-a-day act. COULTER & STARK-12 mins. in One-Two men, blackface comedians, regular singing and dancing team, with a bit of cross-fire talk that doesn't amount to much. No harm for a three-a-day act to fill in time, but they will go up the bill several points in the re-arrangement. FITZGIBBONS, McCOY TRIO-18 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Two men and a woman, in their well known comedy sketch that baffles description. Always go very well here, with laughter throughout. Good act. MERIAN'S DOGS-9 mins.-Special in 4-Same as last week. Very good dog act. CONROY & McDONALD-16 mins. in One-Two men, in a cross-fire talking act, entitled "A Political Pull." The very first joke they sprung was off color. The rest of their talk proved to be very good--original and funny, and they kept the audience in continuous laughter throughout the act. Good act. EDWIN STEVENS-22 mins.-Fancy in 3-Close in One-Monologue and songs. Very artistic offering. Went as well as when here before. Our audience seemed to like his work and listened to him intently and with evident interest. Went very well. KELLY & KENT -16 mins.-C.D.F. in 2-1/2-Close in One-Mn and woman, in a mixture of singing, dancing and talk. Went very well, and closed strong with a "tough" dance in one. Good act. BAILEY & MADISON-12 mins.-Landsc. in 4-Two men, eccentric comedians. Got here too late to rehearse music. Do a little bit of everything--and seem to do it well. Their act started off much stronger than it finished. However, good act. ((handwritten in pencil: [Illegible Good]
