102 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF AUGUST 15th. YHR 2 W. H. PASCOE & CO. Consisting of Mr. Pascoe and Helen R. Wilcox in a military sketch entitled "Love and War." It is a good comedy act, the theme being somewhat novel, or at least un-hacknied. Both Mr. Pascoe and Miss Wilcox are cable artists and extricated a lot of laughter out of the act. It is a good sketch now and a dozen more performances will make it even better. 18 minutes, full stage. GYH 2 JOHN D. GILBERT. In eccentric comedy. Much to my surprise, Mr. Gilbert walked on and made a big hit. Everything that he did called for roars of laughter. He has a comic personality about him which seems to appeal especially to women, and I noticed in particular that they were laughing every moment he was on the stage. While he was nothing especially new, it is a good lively act. 23 minutes in one. YHR 2 FOUR BARD BROS. This act everybody knows, and it is the best American acrobatic act, I believe, that we have, and is not far behind any European act of the same number of people. 13 minutes, full stage HR 3 BIOGRAPH. We retain for the third week the "personal" picture which has been going so strong, and for the first time that I have ever noticed since we have been running the machine the announcement slide got a reception. It is one of the strongest comedy pictures the Biography people have ever given us. 20 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDON.
