Harry Davenport, 2 shows, 10 min. in 1 -- Presenting his "English Types", an act that can be classed as the most artistic in that particular line that the varieties has ever known. Scored one of the hits of the show. Van Auken and Vannison, 2 shows, 8 min. full stage -- Triple horizontal bar performers. Very good act, but too short and not startling enough for the salary received. William Robbins and Lydia Treneman, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1 -- Ordinary singing act; good enough for the 3-show section, but would have no warrant in even an early part in the 2-show division. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Fairly good selection of pictures, the best being "Capt. Kettle's Voyage to the North Pole", which was shown here when we were running the Vitascope. William Alexis and Delia Schall, 3 shows, 12 min. in 2 -- This couple presents a combination of acrobatic contortion, step dancing a vocalism, which constitutes a satisfactory act from a 3-a-day standpoint. Made good at the tail end of the afternoon show. Comment -- The show as a whole is not so strong as those of the preceding two weeks, still, it is well balanced, and will no doubt give satisfaction to the Summer audiences. It should be distinctly understood that the criticisms are made largely upon what seems to be the opinion of the audience and does not represent the opinions of the writer. The people who pay the money should always be given first choice.
