141 NEW YORK SHOW: WEEK SEPTEMBER 12th: LEIPZIG:- AR-3, 13 Mins. D-1. Manipulator of cards, coins and odd articles; very clever and deserving of a better place on the bill. WALTER DANIELS: HR-3, 13 mins. D-2, Impersonation of noted actors, making his changes in view of the audience. Very valuable act for the 3-show-a-day section. MARTIN BROTHERS: GRR-3, D-2: Xylophone solos: 14 Mins. Good. BROTHERS BRIGHT: GYH-2, 7 mins. full stage. Hand to hand balancers. Their work is clean and with apparent ease. They accomplish some very clever tricks. WILSON & DAVIS: NR-3, D-1, Two men: Singing and talking comedy. They have a lot of new material and scored big, and are good for an early place on the bill. 15 Mins. CHASSINO: GHR-2 Shadowgraphist: This man arrived about noon, with his trunks in Castle Garden and his paraphernalia in the Custom House, and he feeling rather indisposed, preferred to postpone his appearance one week later. BEDINI & ARTHUR: YYH-2: 16 Mins. Two men: This act is without doubt the funniest juggling act in the Varieties. They scored a laugh every minute and made a tremendous hit. 16 Mins. Full stage. DOROTHY KENTON: AR-3, D-1: "The Girl with the Banjo". Pleasing banjo selections. A good act to dispose of a wait. MISS ANNIE IRISH: SHR-2, Full stage, 20 Mins. Making her debut in vaudeville in an idea from the French, "An Actresses' Christmas". The act is part an illusion and part monologue, showing the one woman idea, entertaining friends in the imaginary. The offering is quiet, containing but a few laughs, although novel and dainty, it being rather deep for the Monday crowd and appeals to the better class. COAKLEY & McBRIDE: GYH-2, 19 Mins. Two Men: Drop in one: Blackface talking, singing and dancing. Coakley impersonates the woman. The act is greatly improved since last here; they have a lot of new material. Coakley's dancing being the feature. Act went very strong. SAGER MIDGLEY & GERTIE CARLISLE: YYH-2, Full stage, 24 Mins. In the "Sammy and Sarah" series, "Taking a Tonic". Although this act has played here quite often, it goes better every time, and held the audience to the finish. HENRY E. DIXEY & CO. ARR-2, Full stage, 21 Mins. In the one act play, "David Garrick on the Art of Acting". His offering was well received, as he was on quite late in the afternoon. He is artistic and clever, and his support is excellent, and held the audience, and they thoroughly appreciated his work. 3 CRANE BROTHERS: YRR-2, 18 Mins. Dr. 1. Impersonating the "Mud Town Minstrels". A continuous roar from start to finish. COLLINS & HART: YRR-2, Full stage, 14 Mins. Two men in an eccentric acrobatic comedy. This act made a big impression this afternoon. Their balancing with the invisible wire was received with screams of laughter. BIOGRAPH: 20 Mins. We are featuring "The Widow and the Only Man", a romance of society at a Summer Hotel. Good film. The Sea-shore Baby, a good picture photographically. "A Kiss and a tumble", this a copy of an English picture by that name, although the English comedy is in spots, it is a good film. "Building a house on Easy Street", a new name for an old Biograph picture, is an added addition to their [illegible] the show was not as strong as usual. S.K. HODGDON.
