152 KEITH'S CLEVELAND OHIO. SHOW, WEEK BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 19th, 1904. WELSH-MONTROSE TRIO: Supposed to be called a comedy acrobatic act. Acrobatic stuff pretty good of its kind. Nothing startling or unusual. The comedy part is not much good. Runs about 18 min. with about 4 min. in one. SMITH-FULLER: A musical act well known to every house in the circuit, needs no comment. time of act about 20 min. with 5 min. in one. LEW SULLY: in white face monologue. This act is not nearly as good as it has been. Every time he comes to Cleveland and he complains about his voice. A little slice off his salary would be in keeping with his act. 18 min. in one. MANSFIELD-WILBUR COMPANY: In a melo-dramatic sketch of the 10-20 and 30 cent order. Four people, three men and one woman. The only redeeming feature about it is at the finish, which ends in a fight. They carry a special set which is absolutely unnecessary, as every vaudeville house can supply it, besides it is only 16 ft. stuff and looks very badly in a house where the house scenery is 20 ft. At the Monday afternoon performance the act went fairly good, with the evening it fell flat and hardly got a curtain call. Act runs about 25 min. FORD & GEHRUE: A singing and dancing act, poor in singing but very good in dancing. An extra good number in one and very pleasing. 13 min. THE FIVE MOWATTS: An extraordinary good juggling act and will go any place on any bill. This act deserves special mention. The boys are all young and conscientious workers; they are around the theatre every morning practising with the clubs, and I believe that if they are given work so that they can keep together, they will give us one of the best juggling acts we have ever had in vaudeville, and they now give the best ones a hard rub for first honors. Time of act 11 min. in full stage. MADAME MANTELLI: This act is also no doubt well known over the circuit. One of the best operatic high class singing acts. She was in magnificent voice yesterday. Her work is very artistic and was very much admired by the better class of our audience. Gov. Herrick and his party occupied several boxes last night and were very enthusiastic over her singing. Time of act about 9 min. in one. SHERMAN & DE FOREST: In a comedy sketch called "The Battle of San Dago", which contains some talking, a little dancing and singing, and a conglomeration of everything else. This act certainly does make them laugh. The finish represents a battle field, a bombardment by cannon balls, which is very laughable. time of act 18 min. full stage, can close in one if necessary. L. M. Eirick. AMERICAN BIOGRAPH: Pictures closing the show. No new films of any special interest.
