156 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE, PHILA., PA. SEPT. 26TH. VON CAMP-NW-3-Magician, assisted by a lady for the illusion he presents. Does a number of small tricks, and presents an act that is a good time-filler for the early bill. 20 mins. C.D.F. 3 THE ZARNES-KR-3-Man and woman. Played the circuit a number of times. Work on the rings and swinging trapeze. Good three show act. 11 mins. Gar.in 4. INESS & RYAN-NH-3-Man and woman. Alleged comedy talk and singing. Man sang a pathetic ballad about mother in a snowstorm. Woman attempted some crossfire comedy talk that was really bad. Had voice, bad delivery and bad material. Not again for this house, please. 16 mins. in one. THE PROBST TRIO-NH-3-Man, woman and boy, wooden shoe and roller skate dancing, with some singing. Boy delivers a monologue that is not "cute" and not very funny. He also sings one of those "poor, dear weeping mother" songs for kind applause. The wooden shoe and roller skate dancing is good, and if the man and woman worked more, and the "kid" less, it would be a better act. 16 mins. in one. BUD MAGNUM-AR-3-Musical comedian, working something like Ed. Latell. Plays bells, saxophone and xylophone. Good little musical and comedy act for the three show section. 14 mins. Pal. in 2 -Close in one. BROS. RIGOLETTO-GYM-2-Two boys, hand balancing and aerial ladder act. A very good act. The work is clever and finished and the audiences liked it immensely. 12 mins. Gar. in 4. MARION LAMONT-NH-2-Vocalist. Booked for three shows, but doing only two. Fair vocal act. Sang three selections. One was "Dixey" in which she waved an American flag. Good three show act. 10 mins. in one. MILTON & DOLLY [NOBL?E]-MNH-2-Sketch "The Days of '49." Lots of talk, and it takes 16 minutes of dialogue to get to the action. The sketch has not the laughs in it that "The Blue Grass Widow" has. Mr. Nobles impersonates an Irishman, and gets all the laughs there are in the sketch. Good for a change, but not as good as they have been giving us. 29 mins. Spec. set in 5. HARRIGAN-GNH-2-Tramp juggler, songs and parodies. Well known. Always goes well. First real life in the show to-day. 22 mins. Gar. in 2. Close and open in one. MARCEL'S PICTURES-NRR-2-Second week. Still a drawing card. 18 mins. Spec. Set. MELANI TRIO-YRR-2-Three men, street singers and musicians. As good as the three Diamonds for this house. 14 mins: in one. RICE & PROVOST-GHR-2-Comedy acrobats. Simply the greatest act for real laughs that we have had here for a year. A real "knockout". 8 mins. Gar. in 4. YORK & ADAMS-YNR-2-Hebrew comedians. Act is well known. They had a hard place, but they made them laugh, nevertheless. Went as well as they ever did. 13 mins. in one. BUTTON'S DOGS-GHR-2-Good dog act, but not as good as some we have had lately. 13 mins. Gar. in 5. BIOGRAPH-2O mins.-The Seashore Baby, good; The l4th Japanese Engineers good; The Widow and the Only Man, or Society at a Summer Hotel, good comedy picture. Held over the Brewers' Parade for this week. H. A. DANIELS.
