184 (M. J. Keating) Boston Show, Week of Oct. 17, 1904. Stereopticon, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1 -- Usual selection of interesting home and foreign views. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hayman, 3 shows, 15 min. full stage -- In a character comedy sketch, entitled, "The New Stenographer", in which the man makes up as a German and the girl occupies a stenographer position in an office attired in soubrette skirts that do not reach to her knees. It is a wishy-washy sort of an affair and unobjectionable enough for a bachelor's sociable. For those who require a time filler it is all right. The Holdsworths, 3 shows, 13 min. in 1 -- Neatly costumed young man and woman in vocal and banjo duets, and some wooden shoe dancing by the male member of the team. From the 3-per-day viewpoint, it is all right, and could easily go further down in the bill. Naomi Ethardo, 3 shows, 9 min. full stage -- Equilibrist and acrobatic contortionist. Has a good figure but rather homely features. Her act went well, as it always does here, and she, too, could be placed further down if need be. Marion Lamont, 2 shows, 10 min. in 1 -- Soprano vocalist, who has appeared in the other houses on the circuit. She has a sweet voice, fairly well-trained, but not of much volume, and really does not deserve the strictures that has been passed upon her in some other places. We have had far worse singers, both in voice and appearance, on the circuit.
