CRITICISM OF SHOW.
KEITH'S NEW THEATRE,PHILA.
OCT. 17TH.

LAMBERT & PIERCE-NR-3-Two men, blackface singing and dancing act. A few small jokes. All right for a three show act to fill in time. 13 mins. in one.

THE MAGINLEYS-KR-3-Man and woman, trapeze performers. A very good three show act. 11 mins. Gar. in 4.

CURTIS & ADAMS-NR-3-Two men, German comedians. Considering the salary and three shows, a good act. 12 mins. in one.

NEWELL & [NIBLO?]-[??]3-Man and woman, musical act, both working straight. Play saxophone, violin and xylophone. Good three show act. 16 mins. in one.

[LA VINE?]  & LEONARD-NR-3-Two men, comedy and juggling act. One working as Dutch comedian and one as tramp juggler. They get quite a good deal of fun out of a prop. automobile. Good three show comedy act. Great finish. [1?] mins. Gar. in 4.

HELEN REINER-[GR?]-2-Character studies. Impersonating a club woman, a soulful maiden, and a reformer. Good act for the early two show section, her "soulful maiden" containing some very good comedy. Good act. 16 mins. in one.

MATTHEWS & HARRIS-YRR-2-Man and woman, in the well known comedy sketch, entitled, "Adam the Second." Played the circuit many times, and needs no comment. Always gets a few laughs, but would get more if a good actress had the part. 22 mins. Spec. in 5.

FORD & GEHRUE-YHR-2-John Ford and his wife, Mayme Gehrue, back together in a straight dancing and singing act. It is fortunate they were wise enough to shelve their "comedy sketch", and get back to real work. They are both [cor?ing?] dancers, probably the best in the business, and Mayme Gehrue can "sing" like a veteran. Very good act. 11 mins. in one.

WARD & CURRAN-YRH-2-Two men, well known comedy sketch "The Terrible Judge." A few changes have been made in the dialogue. This act always goes very well here, and gets the laughs. Very good act. 26 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one.

ADAMINI & TAYLOR-GYH-2-Man and woman, street musicians and vocalists. Always good, but have improved since last here. Very good act in one. 15 mins. in one.

MURPHY & NICHOLS-YHR-2-A new sketch, entitiled "From Az Az to Uncle Tom." Open in one. Then they go [back? to a scene?] [illegible] the scenes, set with cakes of ice for Eliza to cross with the child. A scream of laughter from the start. Full of action, life, ginger and comedy. Very good act. 26 mins. Full stage, [two?] special drops.

CHARLEY CASE-YHR-2-Well known blackface monologuist. Always goes very well here. 18 mins. in one.

BAILEY & MADISON-[Y??]-2-Two men, grotesque eccentrics. Very good act. 10 mins. Landscape in 4. Set Cottage.

BIOGRAPH-20 mins.-The Lost Child. The best comedy picture we've ever had in the house. A good real life comedy picture. a Railway Sneak Thief. A good real life picture.
