220 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, NOV. 14TH '04. H. A. DANIELS. KENNEDY & QUATRELLI-KR-3-Two men, comedy jugglers, clown makeup. A very good three show juggling act for this house, and could make good in a better place, could we place them. 12 mins. Gar. 4. Close in one. HARPER, DESMOND & BAILEY-GRR-3- The girls failed to show up in time for the first show. THE LA TELLS-NH-3-Two men, hand to hand balancers and acrobats. A neatly dressed, clean act, and a very good three show act. 8 mins. Gar. 4 CUNNINGHAM & LORD-NH-3-Will Cunningham & Mabel Lord, singing and dancing duo. Neatly dressed, lively act. A good three show act. Finished to liberal applause. 10 mins. in one. THE ALLISONS-GYH-2-Man and woman, Swedish sketch, entitled "Minnie from Minnesota." A good comedy act for the early two show section. Always gets the laughs if not on too late. Good act. 14 mins. C.D.F. 3. EDWIN NICANDER-GRR-2-Monologue. Had to be put on early, without the orchestra because of the very heavy show. Seemed a bit nervous. He is well known in town because of his connection with the Bijou Stock Company. Has some very good stuff about automobiles. 16 mins. in one. THE FADETTES-HMN-2-Third and last week. 40 mins. Spec. Set. CAIN & DE FORREST-GYH-3-Cain. of the old team of Mitchell & Cain. De Forrest takes Mitchell's part, and makes up grotesquely. The new team is fully as good as the old--maybe a bit better. The audience seemed to like them immensely, and their act was received with laughter throughout. 13 mins. in one. CALLAHAN & MACK-YHR-2-Too well known for extended comment. Mr. Hodgdon has termed the act an "Irish Classic." A good act. 19 mins. Special set in 4. LAURA MILLARD-GRR-2-Vocalist. Pleasing personality, handsomely gowned. A good straight vocal act. 10 mins. in one. EMMETT CORRIGAN & CO.-HRR-2-Sketch "Jockey Jones;" or, "The Day of the Handicap." Special set. Hospital scene, with Corrigan, the jockey, sick in bed, with both legs amputated. Four people in the sketch, two men and two women. Act is serious throughout. Act closes with a mechanical horse race scene and the death of the jockey. Act was well received, although the mechanical part broke down. good act for an audience that can stand a little serious work. Went well here. 22 mins. Special set. PRESS ELDRIDGE-YRR-2-Well known blackface story teller. His stuff went quite well following the death scene in Corrigan's act, for a few funny stories were about due. Good act for this house. 19 mins. in one. HARRY GILFOIL-MRR-3-In his character part "Baron Sands," which serves to introduce his well known mimicry of strange sounds. Went fairly well, but did not make a great hit. Most of his work received deserved applause. Good act. 17 mins. C.D.F. in 3. NICHOLS SISTERS-YRR-2-Blackface singing and talking act. They were in pretty swift company at this spot, and by comparison did not show up to the best advantage. They have a good act, but may do better a little further up the bill. 12 mins. in one. U. S. BATTLESHIP CONNECTICUT. Launch of this vessel at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Very good.
