KEITH'S BIJOU, PHILA., CRITICISM WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 28TH, 190e. STEREOPTICON: Interesting. AL. FRIEND: Poor Hebrew parodies; closed himself. Street 1. THE GAGNOUX: Good double juggling, but very nervous. Palace 4, 3 shows. BRYANT & SAVILLE: Good act; music and comedy praiseworthy. Street one to C.D.Fancy., close 1., three shows. EMERSON & OMEGA: Good comedy turn; probably more successful than hitherto C.D.Fancy 3; 3 shows. HOWLEY & LESLIE: One of the best of the three-a-day turns, and would make good in two-a-day section. Girl's baby imitation equalled by few. open 1, garden 2, close 1. Three shows. THE MAGINLEYS: Probably better than ever before. Some of their work not excelled. Very good three-a-day. Palace 4. BEATRICE MORELAND: From audience's standpoint, good; but there are many three-a-day acts better than her specialty. Drapery 1. GEORGE THATCHER: Probably entitled to "very good" rating. Street 1. KEARNEY & DURYEA: Far from being a headline act. Emerson & Omega do the same sort of thing in more enjoyable style. There are better three-a-day acts than Kearney & Duryea's. C.D.Fancy 3. DONAHUE & NICHOLS: Doubtless the star turn of bill. Triply vauable for comedy, dancing and acrobatics. Donahue alone in his line, and girl the best "madcap" in vaudeville. Everything considered, probably no more attractive young woman in variety and few so attractive on any stage. Garden 3, close 1. Two shows. ZISKA & KING: Very good, bunching magic and comedy value. Only poor work of Ziska in his impersonation of a Frenchman. Gar.4, close 1. two shows BLOCKSON & BURNS: Act not quite so strong as hitherto; yet it had 'em howling at times. Landscape 4, two shows. BIOGRAPH: Good; several interesting films. COMMENT: Plenty of good material and show as a whole all right. If standard of this and last week can be maintained, the Chestnut Street House will have to hustle. It's the sort of show that would win business without cut in prices. J.J.Keirans.
