New York Show--Week of October 5, 1903.--2. strong as he might have done, but his turn is a big improvement over the old act. 19 minutes; open in two, and close in one. GHR. 2--SNYDER & BUCKLEY.--Two men in a musical comedy act. One of them making up straight and the other as a German comedian. It is the same act that they have been doing for the last two or three years and went fully as strong as ever. They can always be relief upon to make a good impression upon the audience. 21 minutes; open full stage, and close in one. NRR 2.--NED WAYBURN'S MINSTREL MISSES.--This act is just exactly as I expected it would be. It is a novelty pure and simple. It interested our audience from the start to the finish. It makes a very brilliant stage picture on account of the number of girls and a decided relief from monologs and sketches. My idea is that the unfavorable impression made in Boston by the act was occasioned by the fact that too much was expected of it in the way of applause. It is an act that does not call for any applause at all hardly until the finish when the concerted dancing can hardly fail to interest any audience. In the case of Capt. Eddy's act which we played here two or three weeks, the only thing that got any applause at all was the Red Huzzar Drill, the other section of the act going off frequently without a hand, and I am absolutely unable to comprehend how an audience can sit through that sort of act five or six weeks and appreciate it, and not see the difference between it and these seventeen bright working show girls. However, there is no accounting for tastes and the cerdict of the audience is certainly the only thing that we can care for. 24 minutes, full stage. GYH 2--CHAS. LEONARD FLETCHER.--Mr. Fletcher does about the same stil of act that he did the last time he was here, consisting of imitations of different actors, making up in full view of the audience. He was placed a little bit bad this afternoon, but that will be remedied to-night. It is a good clever act all the way through. 20 minutes in one. YHR.--2. BELMORE & LEE.--In a novel aerial acrobatic act. They do their act in an entirely white costume against a black background. The feature of the act being some exceedingly pretty work on an aerial ladder, the novelty consisting principally in the fact that the ladder, while they are working, is given a rotary motion and swings horizontally. The finish being a rather sensational breakaway. They are clever artists and made a strong impression this afternoon. 11 minutes, full stage. HR --BIOGRAPH. They gave us a very fine collection of views this week, the principal one being a representation of a falling chimney, the wooden supports of which are burnt from under it. It is a very valuable filmn. 15 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDON.
