Keith's Bijou, Criticism, Nov. 9th, 1903. laughter from every part of the house. 2 shows. BILLY JOHNSON: The original Johnson of Cole & Johnson. Street in one; 15 minutes. Johnson was accorded the biggest reception of the day, but he hardly got by with his first two songs. However, the third song: "I'm Working for the Government Now," was funny and pleased the audience mightily, with the result that he earned a recall. We may have to move him up, but it is possible he will get by in this place on the bill. 2 s. THE MINSTREL MISSES: Their own set in four; 22 minutes. The same act that has lately gone over the circuit. to our surprise, they received no reception and they hardly got by with their fake brass band work. However, their minstrel work awakened the audience somewhat, and their dancing carried them off to a very good hand. The act is lively and bright, a decided novelty for us, and is all right in this place. 2 shows. RAYMOND & CAVERLY: Street in one; 15 minutes. German comedians in eccentric make up. their German dialect is woefully lacking, but their singing and talk was very well received, and the burlesque opera and dancing finish was heartily applauded. 2 shows. ZENO, CARL & ZENO: Palace in four; 8 minutes. Their familiar aerial act, which is undoubtedly the best that plays the circuit, interrupted frequently by applause, and finishing to general and hearty applause. Probably the best closer we have yet had. 2 shows. BIOGRAPH: A better show than usual, the burglar chase being mainly responsible for the improvement. COMMENT: Show as a whole cannot be classed with that of last week. The Minstrel Misses are the right kind of an act for us, and will no doubt tell heavily before the close of the week. Wilfred Clarke & Co., and Zeno, Carl & Zeno are two other strong features. The balance of the show especially in the three a day division, is hardly up to standard, and there are not enough of the 3 a day acts, making the supper show barely over an hour in length. E.P. LYONS.
