163 Charles Ernest, 2 shows, 18 min. in 1--Blackface humorist and singer. Did not seem to reach his audience this afternoon, although he is undeniably clever. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Crane, 2 shows, 25 min. full stage--In the funny mistaken identity sketch, "Am I Your Wife", which, being capitally acted, went strong, and scored the hit of the show. Dillon Brothers, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1--Owing to the fact that the show had overrun the schedule 16 minutes these young men had a difficult place to negotiate, as a number of people got up and went out. They had a number of good parodies and made a hit with those who remained Howard's ponies and dogs, 2 shows, 17 min. full stage--In my opinion this act has improved materially since it was last seen here, especially in the matter of dress, and now ranks with the best animal acts in the business. Went extremely well, considering the late hour at which it appeared. Owley & Randall, 3 shows, 14 min. open in 3, close in 1--Man and woman, in juggling specialties, very few of which are original. The comedy is largely confined to the breaking of crockery. From a 3-a-day standpoint it is a very useful act. Comment:- The show is very strong all through, the only possibly criticism possibly being with the 2-show section, which was a trifle too "talky". To offset this a sight act will be added tomorrow which will straighten things out. The biograph film, Kit Carson, is absolutely the best thing in that line that has so far been put on the market, and is a hit of the show.
