178 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF FEBRUARY 8, 1904--2. capped by a wrong cue at the finish, but he does a very strong act, and at the money is is getting is a bargain. 13 minutes, open full stage and close in one. YHR 2 LEROY & CLAYTON.-- A man and a woman in a comedy sketch entitled "A Horse on Hogan." This is really a sort of continuation of the LeRoy character of Hogan in the other act, and, as in that act, the plot hinges on a case of mistaken identity, but otherwise it is entirely dissimilar and is unquestionably the best act these people have ever given us. 24 minutes, full stage. GRR 2 ADAMINI & TAYLOR.-- A man and a woman in a singing and alleged comedy act. The singing is especially good, but it goes without saying that the man is a very bad boy when it comes to comedy. However, their exceptionally good voices cover the weaker points in the act and it went very strong indeed. 15 minutes, in one. GRR 2 FLOOD BROS.-- Comedy acrobats, and I think about as good in their line as any that we have. Their acrobatic work is superior to any of the grotesque acts that we have ever played and one of the men has a very good idea of comedy, getting a lot of laughs this afternoon. 11 minutes, open full stage and close with about 2 minutes in one. GNH 2 CRIMMINS & GORE.-- A man and a woman in an eccentric comedy sketch (put in to take place of Cushman, Holcomb & Curtis). There is but very little merit to this act, but some extremely rough comedy and crazy talk serves to carry it through, and they really went very strong this afternoon. Miss Gore's makeup as the tough Bowery girl is very funny indeed, largely on account of her slender build and great height. They serve the purpose for which I booked them remarkably well this afternoon, and it is possible that they might go good over the entire circuit, but I would like to have the others see them this week and decide for themselves. 24 minutes, open full stage and close with about 2 minutes in one. YNH 2 THE CARMEN TROUPE.-- Five people--three men and two women--in a combination acrobatic and wire act which made a bit hit. One of the women and two of the men are exceptionally clever performers on the tight wire, and they have introduced some novelties in jumping from the wire to shoulders and vice-versa that makes the act stand out. They are all quite good acrobats and put in a lively rattling finish which takes them off in great shape. 16 minutes, full stage. There is a whole lot of comedy in the show this week and it went very strong from start to finish. On account of the defection of Miss Cushman, of Cushman, Holcomb & Curtis, this act broke up here this morning, and the two men are about to get another partner, but I hardly think that the absence of the act was noticeable with Crimmins & Gore in their place. S. K. HODGDON.
