223 (M. J. Keating) Boston Show, Week of Mar. 14, 1904 Stereopticon, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Usual collection of interesting views. Spaulding, 3 shows, 10 min. open in 2, close in 1-- Excellent equilibrist and hand jumper. Seems to me that if he worked in dress suit, altogether in 1, as he could do, he could hold down almost any position in the bill. Mr. and Mrs. Perkins Fisher, 2 shows, 18 min. full stage--Presenting their rural comedy sketch, "The Half Way House", which is one of the best things of its kind in the varieties. Went nicely, with chuckles all through, and considerable applause at the close. Bailey and Fletcher, 3 shows, 14 min. in 1--"Real coon" singers and dancers. They are not much as vocalists but won out on their dancing. Completely outclassed by the teams here the two preceding weeks. Martini and Maxmillian, 2 shows, 24 min. open full stage, close in 1--The first named a straight magician of considerable skill, and Maxmillian a clever burlesquer, who exposes the tricks performed by his partner, and is very funny. The act went well, but not big. Carlotta Delmar, 3 shows, 12 min. full stage--Trick bicycle rider of average ability. It is a pretty "sight" act, not calling for much applause, and will always belong in the 3-show section. Tim McMahon and Edythe Chappelle, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1--Talking and singing act. Pleasing act and went fairly. Just about gets by in the 2-show section. Wartenburg brothers, 2 shows, 9 min. full stage--Acrobatic feats and double foot juggling. One of the prettiest "sight" acts that plays the house. Went slow at first, but finished strong. John Donahue and Mattie Nichols, 2 shows, 12 min. open in 2, close in 1--I agree with Providence that this act is getting to be a "shine" because of their failure to get new material. It did not go nearly as strong as the last time they played the house.
