NEW YORK CRITICISM SEPTEMBER 4th, 1905. 3. JACK AND GILDA CANNON In the comedy "The Tramp's Mistake" Not a bad opening act. The woman has a fair voice, makes a good appearance, and does some neat toe dancing. The man portrays the character of a neat tramp and received a big lot of applause for his parodies. Sixteen minutes full stge, three shows. TAYLOR & TAYLOR Man and woman, colored. Talking, singing and dancing. The woman has an excellent voice, clear with great volume and scored big with her singing. The man received some laughs for his eccentric dancing. The act is alright for an early place. Sixteen minutes in one, three shows. John Zimmer. Novelty juggler. Received big applause for his ball manipulating. Fully capable of holding down better place. Nine minutes in one, three shows. MARTIN BROTHERS Xylophone soloists. Their selections are not as strong as they generally give us. Received some applause on their finish, but did not go as strong as usual. Thirteen minutes, in one, three shows. RUSSELL & TILLYRE Man and woman, grosteque dancing and acrobatic comedy. Scored plenty of laughs throughout. Excellent three show act. Thirteen minutes in two. CHASSING Shadowgraphis. Well known over the circuit. Went fully as strong to day as on his first appearance. Eleven minutes, two shows. A.O. DUNCAN Ventriloquist and the best we play. This man keeps abreast with the times, giving us all local material, therefore made a big hit this afternoon. Nineteen minutes, close in one, two shows. GALLAGHER & BARRETT Two men, talking and singing comedy. The entire act is a big lot of nonsence, but they caught the crowd from the start off and carried them along during the entire act. Nineteen minutes, close in one, two shows. MAX WALDON Female impersonator and character change artist, clever performer. Each of his characters were strongly applauded. Big applause on his finish. Fifteen minutes, full stage, two shows. ITALIAN TRIO Three men, vocal selections. They failed to make the impression as they did before, probably due to their position, will change them to-night. Eleven minutes, in one, two shows. KINETOGRAPH The Fire Bug Chasing picture good. Nautical Fancies Reversed film, good The Infernal Cave Hand painted, good.
