Cleveland Show, Sept. 11 (H. A. Daniels) 36 LA VINE CIMARON TRIO.--Two men one woman, comedy acrobatic act. Well known on the circuit. Made a good opening act and closed to liberal applause. C. D. F. in 3, close in one. 13 minutes. GALETTI'S MONKEYS AND DOGS--Did not work well today, but managed to get a good many laughs. Good act for the children and all right for the place we have them here. Landscape in five. 14 minutes. O. K. SATO -- I had to shift Sato to this place on the bill instead of Kokin for he would not work in one. Mr. Hodgdon wrote me that the whole act was in one, but Sato demanded C. D. F. in three and, as this necessitated a wait of two minutes or more, I put the wait in here. Sato does nothing new although he is quite clever with the old stuff. Received few laughs and very little applause. 12 minutes. C. D. F. in three, close in one. SIX MUSICAL CUTTYS -- Act is too well known for comment. Act went very well here, both instrumental and vocal numbers being liberally applauded. A very good act for this house. 20 minutes. Palace in five, close in one. NOTE -- Up to this tie there has not been a word spoken. However, it is impossible to arrange the show different. Cecelia Loftus -- Received liberal applause. Gave immitations of Ada Rehan, Edna May, Harry Bulger, Miss Josephine Sobel, Miss Ethel Barrymore, Miss Mable Harrison, Miss Marie Dressler, Madam Sarah Bernhardt. Every imitation was applauded. The audience apparently understood them all. I did not. Miss Loftus received four curtain calls at the close. C. D. F. in 2 1/2 Close in one. 14 minutes. CLAY CLEMENT & CO. -- "Baron's Love Story" Probably one of the best German dialect sketches in vaudeville. The matinee audience seemed intensely interested throughout the dialogue. Very good act for this house. 24 minutes. Garden in four, set cottage. Mignonette Mekin -- Comedienne. This is the only act in one that I have in the entire bill. This place is too strong for her, but there is no help for it. She closed much stronger than she opened. I am going to cut the act some and change it about for the night show. She placed a small boy in a balcony box to sing to her and closed with a little soubrette work. Very good, for an earlier place. 15 minutes in one. DELMORE AND LEE -- revolving ladder act. Well known on the circuit. Very good act to close with. Went well today. Special set, full stage. 9 minutes. KINETOGRAPH -- Dangerous Golfers, Comedy picture, good. Fire Brand, chasing picture winding up with a fight. Good. COMMENT -- There are two waits in the show, one between the monkeys and Sato, the other between Loftus and Clement. Neither one can be avoided. it is quite impossible to run the show without waits with only one act in one. The Cuttys do barely 2 minutes in one and Loftus does 3 minutes. These are hardly sufficient to make sets. One good act in one in place of Kokin would make the show run 50 per cent better and it would then be a crackerjack. As it is now, it drops when it comes to this spot.
