104 Cleveland Show Week of Nov. 20th. (H. A. Daniels) CHICK--Tramp bicyclist. Went quite well for an opening act. Finished much stronger than he started. Good act. Full stage. 9 min. KINETOGRAPH--Four sort pictures to take out the wait while setting Duncan's act. A. O. DUNCAN--Ventriloquist. This man keeps up to date and uses a lot of local stuff. However, it is a strange coincidence that the ventriloquists seem to be traveling in bunches. This man can hardly attempt to follow Ed. Reynard, not that Reynard is a better ventriloquist, but that Reynard has a great deal better stage setting and a great deal of novelty in his act. Duncan got quite a good many laughs today and went well. C.D.F. in 3, close in one. 17 minutes. Cut out "More fish". BARON'S DOGS--Has been criticized before in other houses. He has quite a novelty in the trained animal line although the animals did not work smoothly today as no doubt they will the rest of the week. It will be a good act for the children and I will endeavor to get them in on Saturday. Very good act. 12 minutes. HELEN REIMER--A pretty stiff place for this artiste at 3 o'clock. She did fairly well in this house last season. Today she filled the time acceptably. Received some laughs and a little applause. 14 min. SHERMAN & DE FOREST--In their sketch, "The Fall of Poor Arthur". Mostly rough house but it goes here, at least it went this afternoon and the audience seemed to enjoy every minute of it. I think a very good act for this house. Special set in 5, close in one. 17 minutes. CITY GIRLS--We had a good house this afternoon and I think Truly Shattuck and the City Girlsare to blame for it. When their number was announced the people began to sit up and take notice. Received advance applause. The act went very well indeed. I was very much amused when the Philadelphia Girl sang "Bye, bye, let me sleep". The girls are all very pretty and handsomely gowned and each can dance and sing. The audience seemed thoroughly pleased. Palace in 5. 19 minutes. ADOLF ZINK--Presenting practically the same act that he did last year, impersonating several characters. Shows changes in his dressing room with the aid of his biograph. Quite a novelty to those who have never seen it. Went fairly well today, novelty of the thing doing more than anything else to hold the act in this spot. He has improved it some since I last saw it. Some of his work was applauded, all of it was interesting. Drop in one. 20 min. HAL DAVIS & INEX MACAULEY CO.--Too well known for comment. The whole action of the sketch leads up to the glass smashing at the finish and we put this here to close the show. 20 min.
