Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I, Week of January 15, 1906. (Charles Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill this week is quite good; the only fault to be found is, that it lacks comedy in the early two a day section as well as in the three a day division. It has a number of features however, which in themselves, are worth the money and we should have a very good week. Whitman & Davis. Comedy sketch which has been described from other houses. All right for the early show. 15 min. in 2, 3 shows. Harry Pilcer. Singer and dancer. Young man with nice personality, very decent vo9ce. All right for the money in the early show. 11 min. in one, 3 shows. Chick. Well known comedy bicyclist who did first rate. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Hubert DeVean. Crayon artist. This man didn't go as well as Harry Brown who was here last week. His subjects are not especially good. The act isall right however from the three a day standpoint. 17 min. in 2, 3 shows. Grace Leonard. Male impersonator. This woman is very good indeed, has a nice personality, splendid enunciation, some good songs, which she knows how to deliver. Especially good 3 a day act. 16 min. in 1, 3 shows. Alfred Arnessen. Equilibrist. These acts never go here and although this man has one or two tricks out of the ordinary, I don't from any standpoint consider the act worth the money. He does a very few tricks and occupies znearly six minutes of time. Entirely overpaid. 2 shows. John Birch. In his well known monologue "The Man with the Hats." This thing starts out well but becomes a little monotonous before finishing. One portion of this, introduced as an incident to a monologue would be great. I wouldn't care for the act again. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. Julian Eltings. Best female impersonator I have ever seen. Went exceedingly strong dispite a very bad cold. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Luigi Dell 'Oro. Musical novelty. First part of his act went only fairly, but he went quite strongly at the finish. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. Pilson & Erroll. In the sketch "A Daughter of Bacchus". Very good sketch, exceedingly well played. Good many laughs. 22 min. in 3, 2 shows. Mme. Slapoffski. Soprano, whom we all know as first class in every respect. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. Harry Tate's MOTORING. About as funny a thing aswe have ever had upon the stage. Had the audience screaming and yelling all through. I never know an act to hold up the laughter for the length of time and so incessantly as this act did today. Worth the money in every sense. 17 min. in 3, 2 shows. Paul Barnes. Following the tremendous laughing hit of "Motoring", gave this man a pretty stiff place, but he did first rate for 15 min. and could have come back for more. 2 shows, in one. Russ Wentworth Equestrienne Trio. Well known act, same as been played here before. Very pretty and showy, but I think after this engagement the novelty will have passed and the value gone. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O. K.
