GRAND OPERA HOUSE Pittsburg, P., January 1st, 1906. LEMAIR & LEMAIR-Hebrew comedians and parody singers. 15 minutes, 3 shows. Does very well for the three a day section. HARRY PILSER-Singing and dancing. 12 minutes, 3 shows. I do not consider this a good act. FITZGIBBON, MORSE & DRISLANE-17 minutes, full stage, closing in one 3 minutes. While this act went very well with the majority of our patrons, I am sure that I would not care to play it again owing to the unlooked for things which Mr. Fitzgibbon is liable to do. Many times during the week he was really insulting to the audience. I think he is suited best with a burlesque show-one that is not very particular. EMMA FRANCIS AND HIS ARABIAN WHIRLWINDS-12 minutes open full stage, doing about two minutes in one. Introducing singing, dancing and acrobatic work. While this is not a great act it seems to go very well with our patrons and can be classed as good. THE MAJESTIC TRIO-3 colored people. 3 shows. 15 minutes in one. This is a very fair colored act-much better than the usual three show acts. We had them on at 8:15 and they went very well. HUGH WARD ASSISTED BY JESSIE IZETT AND DENNIE HARRIS in "The Vagabond" 25 minutes. This is a comedy dramatic sketch and the three people, who are Pittsburg stock favorites, went very big at every performance. While I think the act is a very good one, also that it is played very well, it would be hard to judge what they might do where they were not known. They got receptions on the opening of the act and curtain calls at the finish which was due to their popularity. Mr. Ward wants to continue a few weeks in vaudeville. I think he is a capable actor and I feel sure would at least make good with "The Vagabond". LILLIAN SHAW-SINGING COMEDIENNE-Hebrew impersonator. 13 minutes introducing an inimitation of Katy Barry singing "My Enry Brown". Miss Shaw's imitation of Katy Barry is not good. I think Miss Shaw's great fault heretofore has been the length of her act. We had her cut three or foure minutes out of the act which I feel sure has improved it some. FOUR WELSONS-13 minutes, full stage. Good. This is undoubtedly the best act of the kind in the business. It went very big with us and created quite a little talk on the outside. LEW SULLY-Monologue and singing. 15 minutes. Street in one. There is not a great deal of change in Mr. Sully's act, doing practically the same as he did during previous engagements. However, he went very well and I consider him one of the best acts we have in one. S. MILLER KENT assisted by Frank I. Frayne. 15 minutes, interior in "Just Dorothy". This act seemed to please but I think it would go much better if Mr. kent did not overact so much. i feel sure I would not care to repeat this act. THE ZANCIGS-16 minutes in one. This act is well known on the circuit. This is their third appearance with us. They are undoutbedly the best in their line. HARRY HOWARD & PONIES-19 minutes in special set. This is a ery good pony act which would be much improved if there was a little more comedy to it. John P. Harris.
