Cleveland Show, Week of Jan. 29, 1906. CARDOWNIE SISTERS--Two girls. Character singing and dancing, specialties in costume. They can't sing. The dancing caries the act. Good little neatly dressed act for an opener. Most of their work was applauded. 10 min. Open in two, close in one. WEBB ROMALO TROUPE--Three men and one woman. Acrobats and head balancers. Woman does unusually good work. A very good equilibristic and head balancing act. 6 min. Palace in four. CHAS. KENNA--Well known monologue entitled "The Fakir." Has not changed a line in three years. However, it went quite well today, and received fair applause ar the close. Drop in one. 20 min. HOWARD'S PONIES & DOGS--Four ponies and four dogs. While the act is good, and most of the tricks were applauded, there seemed to be something lacking. The early part of the act lacks life. It seems to work off very slow. Act is nicely dressed, and the animals are well trained. A very good finish to the act. 17 min. Special set in four. DURAND TRIO--High-class vocal act. The men are foreigners, and sing in french. They are good vocalists, and would have gone much better with other selections. I will have them changed for the night show. 12 min. Drop in one. TOM RYAN & MARY RICHFIELD--Sketch "Mike Haggerty's Daughter." First time in this Theatre. The sketch went with roars of laughter throughout, and proved to be one of the best comedy sketches we have played this season. I have never before seen it go so well. A very good act. 24 min. Kitchen in three. CLIFFORD & BURKE--Two men. Black face comedians. The act is well known. They can hold down most any spot in one, and make good. The act went exceptionally well this after-noon. Very good. The laughing hit of the show. 18 min. Drop in one. THE HAZARDOUS GLOBE--A metal sphere in which "Wizard" Stone and Miss Irene Stone do a bicycle act on the line of the old Cycle Whirl. The actual riding accupies about three min. The novelty in the act is Stone on a motor-cycle making complete circles of the globe from top to bottom. Time of act 6 min. Full Stage. KINETOGRAPH--"The Hen and the Golden Eggs." A good childrens picture.
