180 PHILADELPHIA SHOW. FEB 5, 1906. C. E. Barns. CARDOWNIE SISTERS. 3 show, 10 min. in 1. Singers and Dancers in costume. Very pretty opener, and went well. THE EVERETTS.--3 shows, 16 min. in 3. Woman and boy, former working straight, latter black-face. Lines very weak and laughs very few. Just got by and that's all. Poor hand at close. Act too long. GRACE LEONARD.--3 shows, 11 min. in 1. "The Beau Brummel of Vaudeville." Male impersonations in very natty costumes and generally pleasing presence. Mild applause at first, but won big later. Closed strong. Good act for this place. LE VIN & LEONARD.--3 shows. 11 min., F. S. Burlesque jugglers with automobile. Juggling fair, automobile burlesque very funny and brought many laughs. Closed with good hand. (Cut out expectoration in hat.) DUDLEY, CHESLYN & BURNS.--Comedy sketch. Two straight and one eccentric. 3 shows. 19 min. in 3, close in 1. Singing fair and lines ditto. Imitation of May Irwin went strong and won encore. Good hand at close. Recommended. CURYEA & MORTIMER.--2 shows, 23 min. F. S. Edmund Day's Playlet, "The Imposter." Bright lines and delivered well, bringing much laughter. Right kind of an act for this place on the bill. JULIAN ELTINGE.-- 2 shows, Open in 1, close in 3. 10 min. Female Impersonator. One of the best ever, if not indeed the leader in this difficult line of entertainment. Make-up remarkable, singing and dancing good and costumes all to be desired. Advance applause and warm hand throughout, with three encores. A fine feature for us. BRYAN'S AMERICAN PEACE CONGRESS of AMERICAN GIRLS.--2 shows. 20 min. Open in 1, close in F. S. At last we get a girl act that lives up to the advance heralding. The best act of the kind ever produced on this stage. Spectacular and vivid, patriotic and stirring. The ensemble singing immense and the flag feature unique and beautiful. Characters of Mikado, Old Veteran, Uncle Sam, President Roosevelt, etc. very interesting. Big hand throughout. Great applause after "Constitution speech and the stirring close. Will pull money to the house this week. PAT ROONEY & MARION BENT.--"Make Yourself at Home." 15 min. F. S. 2 shows. Rooney is eccentric (comic song vendor) and Bent straight. The Wolf Trap. [???] The false alarm. A Drunk series which winds up [???] fairly good comedy. Balac & White. Fairly good. REMARKS.--Bill had to be shifted a great deal owing to the fact that there were only two acts in 1, and the act which closed in 1 were only 2 or 3 min., making waits. The failure of the Renz act to appear on time makes it highly desirable for others on the circuit to make sure that horses or any necessary paraphernalia be shipped in plenty of time to make up for possible delay on road. The bill on a whole promises very well for the rest of the week, and will doubtless draw the crowd.
