(2) PHILADELPHIA SHOW. Feb. 5th, 1906. C. E. Barns. Good costuming and bright chatter. The dancing of course, was the feature and went big. Holds almost any place on the bill with credit. Strong hand at finish. PAUL BARNES.--Songs and burlesques. 18 min. in 1. 2 shows. Tramp make-up. Bright lines, full of real humor. Applause strong throughout. One encore and two recalls at close. A 1. JOHN C. RICE & SALLIE COHEN.--"All THe World Loves a Lover." 2 shows. F. S. 27 min. Very bright sketch, full of wit and spirit. Lines delivered with great gusto and caught the audience heavy all through. Beautiful stage-setting, costuming, etc. For balance of week they will play the "Honeymoon," as the same situation takes place in Rice's sketch and Day's by Duryea & Mortimer. COOPER & ROBINSON.--Colored team. Both working straight. 2 shows, 12 min. in 1. Good work from start. Songs great and comedy of the genuine type. Caught house strong and kept it to the end. KENO, WELSH & MELROSE.--15 min. F. S. 2 shows. Acrobats, two straight, one comedian who does work of the Rice & Prevost order. Barrel-jumping, tumbling etc. Good hand for most of the tricks.and at close. Compelled to use them to close on account of Renz. Mme. Renz & Horses.--Horses were not shipped from Boston till 7 P. M. Sunday night, got delayed in a R. R. wreck and carried here too late for afternoon show. KINETOGRAPH. The Wolf Trap. Rather forced, naughty-boy comedy. The false alarm. A Drunk series which winds up with some fairly good comedy. Balac & White. Fairly good. REMARKS.--Bill had to be shifted a great deal owing to the fact that there were only two acts in 1, and the act which closed in 1 were only 2 or 3 min., making waits. The failure of the Renz act to appear on time makes it highly desirable for others on the circuit to make sure that horses or any necessary paraphernalia be shipped in plenty of time to make up for possible delay on road. The bill on a whole promises very well for the rest of the week, and will doubtless draw the crowd.
