Carter and Bluford, 2 shows, 11 min. in 1--Colored entertainers using a couple of special drops. It is not the place for this team by any means, even if we had no such act as Houdini preceding it. They started off very slow but closed strong. I do not wish to convey the idea that it is a poor act, because personally I think it is a good one, and away from the usual run of colored teams, but it is not a good act for the last spot in one. Mareena, Nevarro and Mareena, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage--Three men, acrobatic and equilibrists. These chaps went extremely well in this spot today, in spite of the fact that the show had run over about 25 minutes. We will move them up for tonight to give better balance to the bill. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of motion pictures: 1. The Misguided Bobby. Fair comedy 2. Victims of the Storm. Quite a novelty 3. The Deserters. Good film, but cut out the suicide portion 4. Prince of Wales at Lahore. Fair film. Whitman and Davis, 3 shows, 18 min. in 3--In the sketch, "His Little Game". For an early spot in the 3-a-day section, it is not a bad sketch and with the length of time it does, it comes in very handy for us here to fill out time. Kittie Stevens, 3 shows, 11 min. full stage--Character change vocalist and dancer. She makes several rapid changes of costume but she is not beyond the ordinary as a dancer. Still, she passes for an early 3-show turn. Comment:- The show, as a whole, is quite an improvement over last week. Houdini is the talk of the town. We are playing to all we can take care of, which is all that can be asked.
