Six Proveannies, 2 shows, 16 min. full stage--Six young women whose work is similar to the Kaufmanns. One of the girls is a very rapid worker and drew big applause for her work here today. I have no doubt but what the fact that we played the Kaufmanns here about a month ago, and for two weeks at that, took considerable from the appreciation of this act shown today. James J. Morton, 2 shows, 13 min. in 1--"The Boy Comic". As always, he had them screaming from start to finish. Houdini, 2 shows, 15 min. full stage--He did his straitjacket work today for the first time here. The audience stood up and fairly screamed. The like of the demonstration that was handed out to him has never been seen in this house before, not even when he came out of the basket last Friday afternoon after 62 minutes had elapsed. He will do the straitjacket every show this week. No matter where you go in town or out of town, it is Houdini. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 1. The Last Witch. Excellent film photographically 2. Gaieties of Divorce. Fair comedy 3. The Opium Smoker's Dream. Good film. James C. Morton and Mamie Diamond, 3 shows, 12 min. in 2--In the farce, "My Brother's Reception". All right for a time filler, and went quite well in this spot today. Leila Taylor, 3 shows, 9 min. in 1--Vocal comedienne. Every one of her selections received an excellent hand in this spot today, and if it is possible, I will no hesitate to give her a spot with the orchestra. Comment:- The show as a whole, is a good one with Houdini on the bill. There is plenty of comedy to carry it along and I think it will prove all right for the balance of the week. We had practically every seat occupied and when the talk of the straitjacket gets around, I can see where we continue last week's tremendous business, which was the greatest in the history of the house, and, I believe, I would put it mildly to say the greatest in the history of any house in Boston.
