Cleveland Show, Week of March 12, '06. (H. A. Daniels.) LE CLAIR & HARDT--2 men. Acrobatic comedy act. About the same act that Collins & Hart used o do. Made a very good opening act. 15 min. Gar. 5. Close in one. TROVOLLO--Ventriloquist. Works in a C.D.F. representing a Hotel Office and carries his own scenery. He launched more objectional stuff than I have heard any other performer use in this house this season. Such phrases as "Go to Hell" and "Oh Good God," with the exception of a number of these cuts, the act is all right. The mechanical effect of the marching soldiers went very well. Good act. 18 min. Close in one. JOHN BIRCH--"The Man with the Hats." This act is well known on the circuit. He managed to hold down this place acceptably. Good act. 12 min. Drop in one. ROSE STAHL & CO.--"The Chorus Lady." This sketch has been seen over the entire circuit, and was played here last season. The audience today thought very well of it. Very good act. C. D. F. 3. 29 min. LAURA MILLARD--Vocalist. This lady sang three selections. She was beautifully gowned, and all her selections were well chosen, which is more than can be said of the majority of these vocalists. She held down this position on the bill, and can be considered well worth the money. 11 min. Drop in one. MR. HENRY LEE--this act needs no comment. Gave impersonations of Mark Twain, Pope Leo XIII, Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, John Paul Jones, Lt. Gen. U. S. Grant, Gen. Robt. E. Lee, and President Roosevelt. All of them were well received. This act will be a good drawing card for this week. Special set. F. S. 28 min. SMITH & CAMPBELL--2men. Conversational comedy. This act is also well known in the Keith houses. Can probably be considered one of the best talking acts in one that we have on the circuit. The laughing hit of the show. 14 min. Drop in one. BROOMSTICK WITCHES--From "The Isle of Spice." Miss Delight Harsch and Mr. Chas. Deagan assisted by eight young ladies in a "Girl Act." Just about the same stuff they all do-----singing, dancing, and the light effect. Not quite lively enough to close the show in good shape, but a good act of the kind. Went quite well, while it was going, but did not receive much applause at the close. F. S. 15 min.
