243 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of April 16, 1906. (Charles Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show is quite satisfactory, in fact it is very good other than of course, the amateur production of Jordan's Opera Company which was no better than I expected; however I feel it will draw some money and no one threw anything so I guess we will be all right. Adams & Mack Magician and comedy assistant. This is a good three a day act of this class; could stand a little bit better spot on the bill. 18 min. open 3, close in 1, 3 shows. Conlon & Hastings. Man and woman sketch with vocal accompaniment. The sketch itself isn't anything extraordinary; the singing is fairly good. Should be classed as a fairly good three a day offering. 17 min. open 3, close in one, 3 shows. Kates Bros. Comedy acrobats. Exceptionally good three a day turn. 9 min. full stage, 3 shows. Jacob's Dogs. This is an act something after the order of Ricken's Dogs, but in this act there is considerably more comedy and the man does a little equilibristic work also. In some respects, it is a more satisfactory act than that of Rickens as it doesn't get the audience's nerves strained and the comedy relieves the other work. 12 min. in 3, 3 shows in this house, although a two a day act. Hodges & Launchmere. Wellknown colored act who made the biggest kind of a hit to-day with their "cat" duet and a lively dance following it. 18 min. open in 2, close in 1. The whole act could be done in 1, 3 shows. Terese Dorgeval. Parisian vocalist who sings in English and gives a little of the French touch to American popular songs. Very clever woman and was thoroughly appreciated by the audience this afternoon. 11 min. in 1, 2 shows. Jules Jordan Opera. This act has no interest for the rest of the circuit. It answers my purpose here which tells the whole story. McMahon & Chappelle. Same act that they have given us other seasons; went pretty well to-day. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. Macy & Hall. Miss Hall being replaced by Myrtle May who does not give as good a performance as the original. The act went very strongly however, and may be slated for a hit. 21 min. full stage, 2 shows. Carlin & Otto. The best "Deutsch" act we have had this season. 17 min. in 1, 2 shows. Four Bards. Acrobats. I don't remember of any act (certainly no sight act) ever getting the amount of applause that these men got this afternoon. They were simply a tremendous hit. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. McMahon Watermelon Girls. A very clever act; as good a "girl's" act we have had in the house. They held down this awfully tough spot with the show 10 min. late, in good shape. 22 min. open in 2, close full stage, 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O. K.
