Paul Barnes, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1 -- His monologue did not go very strong, but they would not let him go on his parodies. I think the monologue got a blackeye because it contained too much mother-in-law business, which has been worked to death in vaudeville. Fred Warren and Jack Gardner, 2 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Black and whiteface comedy, talking and singing act, which was a "knockout" with today's audience. Will make good in any part of the bills here. Comment - The above is not the order of the show, being booked from the holiday makeup in the order in which they appeared on the stage, skipping "repeats." The order for the week will probably be as follows: Stereopciton, Trask and Gladden, Margaret Scott, Norman and Bryce, Jennie Yeamans, Valveno Brothers, Paul Barnes, Howard and Bland, Hill and Whitaker, Woodford's Animals, Warren and Gardner, Juan Caicedo, Cooper and Robinson, Bedini and Arthur's Comedians, Biograph, Arminta and Burke. Up to the time of making this report (4 o'clock) we are doing the largest Christmas business in the history of the house. One of the balconies was shut out in 15 minutes after opening, the other in less than an hour and we had no tickets to sell whatever and we could not even sell admissions before two. On my arrangement of the show we are getting a tremendous relay at this hour. The show is simply a corking one for a holiday week and there is no possible doubt that we shall do a record breaking business.
