65 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, JAN. 23RD'05. H. A. DANIELS. GEO. & MAY WOOLWARD-NH-3-Man and woman. rube talking sketch. Not very good. Just about got by in opening the show. They get all they are worth. 13 mins. Gar. in 5. Close in one. NATIONAL TRIO-KR-3-Open with cabinet, a la Sandow, with one of the trio posing. The three men then do a swinging ring act. Cut out cabinet, as it does not amount to anything. Act is all right for the price and three shows. However, they will never reach the two show section. 11 mins. Gar. in 4. BEN REINHOLD-SR-3-Monologue and songs. Mostly Jew stories. Local celebrity. Can about draw his salary for this house. He talks in a monotone, which grates on the nerves, and he just gets by. Had to cut out some of his stuff. 12 mins. in one. GORMAN & WEST-ER-3-Man and woman. Sketch "A Special Meeting." A good act for either the three or the early two show section. It goes as well as any three show act we play here. Good act. 14 mins. C.D.F. in 2-1/2. MR. & MRS. ALGRED KELCY-GNH-2-In their old sketch "In Trust." Sort of a hard luck story. We would rather have had "Uncle Phineas." However, Kelcy and his wife are always entertaining. Good two show act. Was applauded at the close. 21 mins. Kitchen in 3. SIMMONS & WHITE-GYH-2-Advance applause on their entrance. Playing "Get in de Band Wagon." First time here in over a year. A mighty good three show act. Went with continuous laughter. 20 mins. in one. TEN BRROKE, LAMBERT & CO.-GHR-2-Two men and a woman. Comedy musical act. Comedy good in spots. Act on a whole went well, and is good for the money. 26 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one. LLOYD'S DOGS-YRR-2-Siberian Wolf Hounds. They are savage and unruly, but they can leap, some of them twelve feet high. that is all they do. 8 mins. Gar. in 5. MAXWELL & SIMPSON-YRR-2-Joe Maxwell singing his hard luck fire stories about heroes and burning children, and poor little dying children going to heaven. Courtesy applause for the excellent pictures. The third song received legitimate applause. Good act of its kind. 20 mins. Biograph sheet in one. FOY & CLARK-YHR-2-Cressy's sketch "The Old Curiosity Shop." Went well and received a good hand at the finish. Good act. 14 mins. Special Set. FOUR MORTONS-HRR-2-Too well known for comment. Received advance applause on their entrance. Used "like hell he could," also "I'll be damned." Received applause at the close--as they should for the money. 24 mins. Open in one. C.D.F. in 3. PAULINE HALL-SRR-2-Received advance applause. Sang three selections. Good headline act. 9 mins. in one. FOUR BOISES-YRR-2-Two men, a woman and a boy, casting act, and a good one, although they are not fast workers. Good act--liberally applauded. 6 mins. Gar. in 5.
