85 GRAND OPERA HOUSE. WEEK FEB. 6th, 05. PITTSBURG. PA. SHUNOPAVI-Three shows in two. special drop. 15 minutes. This is a very bad act. BANDY & WILSON-12 minutes. Singing, dancing and talking. The talking in this act is very bad, singing fair and the dancing very good. They do very little talking, however, and it would be much better if they did not do any. The act as a whole does very well. LATINA-10 minutes in three. Carries black drop. The "Physical Culture Girl". This is a very good act doing three shows. We have her on at 8:15 this week and she is going very well. SYDNEY DEANE & CO. in "Christmas on Blackwell Island". 18 minutes. This act is going very big. They are compelled to respond to several encores at the close of every act. I consider the singing full as good as their act of last season and it goes much better with the audience since they cut out the sac-religious parts. BURKE & DEMPSEY-Singing and talking comedians. 15 minutes in one. This act is going very well with us. It is away from the ordinary talking act and is more than making good here this week. EDDIE FOY & CO. Time of act 23 minutes, closing in one 5 minutes. Fancy in three. Mr. Foy's act is going very big here, especially his songs in one. He is compelled to take several encores at every performance. I feel sure that he is increasing our business. I cannot say much in favor of his support except that they all work quick which helps the act quite a little. They are not good actors. I feel sure Mr. Foy is a valuable acquisition. NoRA bayes-12 minutes in one, olio. Nothing new in Miss Bayes' repertoire but she seems to go just as big as ever. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. in his "Japanese Wife". Interior in three 30 min. Miss Bergere carries a number of artificial flowers, screens, etc. which help make a beautiful setting. this is one of the best sketches that we have ever played. Her support is good. I wish we had more artists in vaudeville who are as painstaking in their work as Miss Bergere AL FIELDS-Monologue. 16 minutes in one. Mr. Fields is going very well His parodies are very good but his talking is only fair. He is inclined to be just a little rough. Mr. Fields was laying off here and we put him in in place of Four Huntings who did not arrive owing to some misunderstanding about the date they were booked here. FLORENZE FAMILY-Acrobats. 7 minutes. Full stage, garden. This act replaced the 4 Boises who were compelled to close Monday night on account of an accident to the senior member of the Boises. They are doing very well, nothing startling to the act but it pleases. There are three men and two girls in the act. BARRY & BELL-Singing and dancing act. 3 shows. 12 minutes. This act will just about do for the three a day section. CONNELL & SWAN-14 minutes in one. 2 men. Talking and dancing act. Black face, three shows. This is not a good act and is getting entirely too much money. KINETOGRAPH-Two pictures this week. "The Bathers", which is a very good picture, and "The Chicken Thief" which is only fair. J. P. Harris.
