100 (M. J. Keating) Boston Show, Week of Feb. 27, 1905. Stereopticon, 3 shows, 5 min. in 1 -- Usual selection of interesting home and foreign views. May not have to use them at all, as I have a lot of show. Charles Lorraine and Louise Gandy, 3 shows, 11 min. in 1- This is a comedy talking and singing act, with a little high kicking by the man, who also introduces some legmania business. Just about good enough for an opener in a continuous show. Meakin. Lawrence and Master Dale, 3 shows, [18?] min. in 1 - This is a blackface comedy singing and dancing act, Meakin and the boy being attired in feminine garb. It just about gets by in this spot in the show, as none of them are particularly clever. Owley and Randall, 3 shows, 13 min. open full stage, close in 1 -- Man and woman, in comedy juggling act. From the 3-per-day viewpoint, is all right in an early spot. Man is fairly clever and gets a few laughs; woman is merely a "filler." The Fraser trio, 3 shows, 14 min. full stage -- International dancers, made up of two men and a woman, making various changes of costume. There have been better acts of the same kind played here, but none of them have ever proved popular or scored a hit. Lawrence Crane, 3 shows, 16 min. in 1 -- Irish magician and illusionist. Quite a good worker, going as strong as any one doing that sort of work who plays the house. Mr. and Mrs. Perkins Fisher, 2 shows, 21 min. full stage- Presenting the rural comedy sketch, "The Half-Way House", which got the best place it has ever had in this house, and scored a laughing and applause hit, getting three curtains at the finish. John Birch, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1 -- This man gives a one-act melodrama, assuming all the characters merely by making a change of headgear. Went big, with laughter and applause all through the act. Techow's Cats, 2 shows, 15 min. full stage -- A most interesting and amusing interlude, not only for women and children, but for the sterner sex as well. Laughter and applause every minute it was on the stage. It is easily the best, if not the only animal act of the kind in the business. will probably arrange to have them return in May. The Dumonds, 2 shows, 19 min. in 1 -- Trio of Italian street singers and instrumentalists. The best [...] Scored a tremendous hit. full stage -- Comedy bicyclist, presenting some new stunts, although his funmaking is not original. In this place in the bill, went splendidly. Hoyt and Waller, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1 -- I will quote my criticism of August 22, 1904, which applies now with added emphasis: "Man and woman in foolish conversation and poor vocalist. Poor act from any standpoint, we can easily do without them." I did not know the act was booked.
