107 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, MAR. 6TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. MEAKIN, LAWRENCE & DALE-GYH-3-Two men and a boy, all blackface, singing and dancing specialties, punctuated with some very bad dialogue, and some aged jokes. They finished with an Indian song, in costume, and received a little applause. 15 mins. in one. THE LA JESS-NR-3-Theodore and Camille La Jess, in a novelty contortion and gymnastic act. A very acceptable little three show sight act. Good. 13 mins. Gar. in 4. JOHN LE CLAIR-GRR-3-Juggler. Same work he has always done. John has his "off" days, and then again there are periods when his work is fairly accurate. Good three show sight act, well known on the circuit. 17 mins. Gar. in 3. Close in one. ROATTINO & STEVENS-GNH-2-Two girls, character singing and dancing. Have a new set since last here--and a better act. A good act for the early two show section. 18 mins. Spec. Set. ACKER & GILDAY-AR-3-Two men, talking and singing act. Cut out: "poured slops all over me." For the price, and three shows, no harm. May improve some with age. Cut out: "My God." 12 mins. in one. MR. & MRS. PERKINS FISHER-YRR-2-Sketch "The Half Way House." A rural comedy affair, written by Ezra Kendall. First time here. A very clever act, after the Cressy style. Went with laughs for every line. A bully good act for this house--not a dull spot from beginning to end. 20 mins. Spec. Drop in 3. MARTIN BROS.-GYH-3-Xylophone players. Have played the circuit a number of times. A very good three show act, especially valuable because they work in one. 18 mins. in one. TROVOLLO-YRR-2-Ventriloquist. Had a new line of talk, and seemed to go very well. However, the scenery and dummies are a little old and worn. Two special drops. 18 mins. Gar. in 3. Close in one. HICKEY & NELSON-YYH-2-Acrobatic comedy sketch, well known on the circuit. Always go well here, and to-day was no exception. Very good act. 9 mins. C.D.F. in 3. SPOOK MINSTRELS-HRR-2-Biograph picture, throwing minstrel first-part on screen, while quintette sing behind the sheet. Went very well, indeed. Finish with encore on apron in front of drop. A very good act- and a novelty. 22 mins. Special drop in one. VALERIE BERGERE & CO.-SRR-2-Sketch "His Japanese Wife." Five people. Has been here before. Miss Bergere is a favorite here, having been a stock star at the Girard Ave. Theatre. A good act, and especially valuable for this house. 32 mins. C.D.F. in 3. LONEY HASKELL-GYH-2-Monologue. The man that punches himself in the jaw. Had some good stuff, and went well in a hard spot. Good act. 17 mins. in one. TECHOW'S CATS-YRR-2-A very good act, especially pleasing to the ladies and children. Something unusual in the trained animal line. A good, strong act. 12 mins. Gar. in 4. BIOGRAPH:-A NEW SPEED MARVEL, Good real life; PANORAMA OF THE MAIN AISLE WESTINGHOUSE WORKS, Very good picture; THE KLEPTOMANIAC, Good; THE SWIMMING POOL, PALM BEACH, FLA., Good comedy.
