117 CRITICISM - - CLEVELAND, O. - - March 13, 1905. KELLY & RENO, Comedy Acrobats. This is not a good act by any means; a very poor imitation of Rice & Prevost. Besides that, some parts of it are vulgar, and not fit for a first-class audience. They belong in the burlesque houses. Time, 13 minutes full stage. FOY & CLARKE in their comedy entitled "THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP". This act has played all over the circuit, and is familiar to everybody. First time in this house, thought it was played in Cleveland before. It is a good act. Time, 16 minutes full stage. MLLE. CHESTER and Dog. Good act. Time 10 minutes. FS THE THREE ROMANIERS. European Acrobatic Act. This is only a fair act. There's nothing in it that's out of the ordinary. Two men and a woman. One of them has a ladder on his shoulders, then a smaller ladder is stretched across the center of the other one. The boy and girl do a few stunts on it that about makes it good for an opening act. 8 minutes full stage. SEARLE & VIOLETTE ALLEN, in a comedy skit entitled "The Sign Painter" This is a novelty act, and rather a good one. First time it's played this house, and made quite a hit. They open up with quite a little dialogue, and finish with some singing and dancing and some character imitations, which go very big. They work entirely in one. Time 16 minutes. CALLAHAN & MACK, in "THE OLD NEIGHBORHOOD" This act is known to everybody, having played this town a good many times. They're going about as well as ever. Time 21 minutes full stage. This act cannot open or close in one. JAMES J. MORTON, Monologue. Mr. Morton is going very well in this house. However, the show is not very strong, and he's got nothing ahead of him to hurt him any. He's doing about fifteen minutes in one. EIGHT COLINIS, in a dancing specialty. This is a nice act to look at, and that's all. They get no applause when they finish but it seemed to please. Time 9 minutes full stage. AMERICAN BIOGRAPH. I am running three films - "TOM, TOM THE PIPER'S SON", "FIREWORKS" and "TRIALS OF AN AUTOMOBILIST". The first and third film is very good, but the second one don't amount to much. L. M. EIRICK.
