136 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, APR. 3RD, 1905. H. A. DANIELS. HELLMAN-Magician. A few small tricks. Mostly card palming, etc. Rather crude; only good to fill time as an opener. 9 mins. in one. TWO ASHTONS-NR-3-Two men, comedy juggling act. Better than a poor talking act for the early bill. Comedy is all right in spots. No harm in the early three-show section. Some applause. 13 mins. Gar. in 3. CLEMO & CASSELS-NR-3-Man and woman, colored team, singing, dancing and contortion work. First time here. Man is quite a clever contortionist. A good three-show act for the money. 12 mins. in one. EARL & WILSON-GYH-3-Man and woman, comedy musical act. They play here too often; had them sixteen weeks ago. A good three-show act, but they get all they earn. We hope to be able to miss them now for one full year. The musical part of the act is going backward. 15 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one. WARD & CURRAN-YRR-2-Two men, comedy sketch "The Terrible Judge." Another act, good, 'tis true, but has been played to death here. I believe this is their fifth visit. A good act loses value when it plays too often, and we could lose this act for one full year. Cut out: "You'll be a damn fool all your life." The dialogue has been changed some--and not for the better--as their new stuff is coarse, and a great deal of it objectionable to ladies. Their whole act needs toning down. 31 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one. CALLAHAN & MACK-YHR-2-Two men. Irish character sketch. Another good act, at good money, lost before the house is in, just because they have worn out their welcome here. This is another repeat in sixteen weeks (which means three times a year) 21 mins. Spec. in 3. DELMORE & ONEIDA-GRR-3-Man and woman, Japanese perch act. Well known on the circuit. Good three-show act. 9 mins. in one. BLIND TOM-MHR-2-The blind pianist. Received applause on his entrance. Played three selections. will probably prove a good "curiosity" drawing card for one week. His selections were applauded. 20 mins. Pal. in 4. EMPIRE CITY QUARTETTE-YNH-2-Four men, vocalists, three working straight, one as Jew comedian. Quite good vocalists. Went well. 18 mins. in one. SMITH & COOK-GYH-2-Two men. Well known comedy act. Started off well, then sagged for five minutes, but strengthened some toward the end. Good act. 15 mins. Spec. Drop in 4. NORA BAYES-GNH-2-Comedienne. Second visit here. The first life in the show, which has dragged up to this point. She went especially strong. Has a very good act. 13 mins. in one. MR. & MRS. GARDNER CRANE-YYH-2-Sketch "Am I Your Wife?" Third visit here. A good comedy sketch. Went well to-day in a difficult place. 24 mins. C.D.F. in 3. THE ZANCIGS-YHR-2-Telepathists. A phenomenal exhibition. Will be the most talked of thing in town this week. Very good. 20 mins. in one. THE BLACKSMITH'S DAUGHTER. Fair melodrama. A JAG A LA FRANCAISE. Fair comedy.
