184 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, MAY 29TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. ED. MSTUS-MR-3-Equilibrist. Has a new way of doing some old tricks. Entertaining little three-show sight act. Good for a return sometime. 10 mins. C.D.F. in 3. DUDLEY & CHESLYN-XR-3-Man and woman, vocalists. Solos and duetts. Second time here. Very acceptable three-show singing act. 10 mins. in one. GEO. HUSSEY-AR-3-Ventriloquist. Dummies are roughly made. Talk is rather ordinary, but for the price and three shows, the act can be considered acceptable, for it contains nothing objectionable. However, we wouldn't care for it again for sometime. 13 mins. C.D.F. in 2-1/2. Close in one. VALVERO'S BOMBARDMENT-GRR-2-This is really a crayon act, with a few firecrackers for the windup. The artist draws pictures of warships with colored crayons and then lights them up through the canvas. Quite a pleasing little sight act for the early bill. Some applause at the close. 10 mins. Gar. in 5. HEDRIX & PRESCOTT-GRR-3-Man and woman, singing and dancing act. Neat appearance. Singing, only fair;dancing, good. Good act for three-show section. A little applause. 10 mins. in one. FOY & CLARK-YKR-2-Man and woman, presenting their old act "The Old Curiosity Shop." This is the third or fourth time they have presented the act here. Jan. 23 was the last date. We won't want them again for a full year. A good comedy skit, with a strong finish, but everyone of our patrons saw it 14 weeks ago in this house. 14 mins. Special set in 3. GEO. W. DAY-GYH-2-"The [Uneada?] Biscuit Man." Blackface monologue. Received advance applause. Had some new parodies and new stories. A good two-show act for this house. Went very well to-day. In fact, he took five bows. 18 mins. in one. [OHERSTEIRER?] TROUPE-MHR-2-A double sextette, six men and six women. Tyroleans. Carry some special scenery. Scene represents an Alpine village and the artists dress in native costume. Their numbers were applauded. Good act. 14 mins. Spec. in 5. Close in one. McINTYRE & HEATH-SHR-2-Second week. Presenting "On Guard." This act needs no criticism. A laugh in ever line. 25 mins. Gar. in 5. MESSENGER BOYS TRIO-GHR-2-Three boys, dressed as messengers. Talk and comedy very ordinary. Singing, good;in fact, it carries the act. This place is too strong for them. Act has gone backward since last here. Cut out: --"dead cockroach" story. 20 mins. in one. FAIRY, Good short trick picture. DELPHINO & DELMORA-GRR-3-Man and woman, grotesque musical act, with trick electrical effects. Known on the circuit. Here before. Good three-show novelty act. 10 mins. Gar. in 4.
