187 (F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show, Week of June 5, 1905 Fadettes, 2 shows, 60 min. full stage--Increaded to 40 members. The same style of popular selections as on previous occasions. There has been some change in the roster of the organization; the more noticable one being the loss of the drummer girl. Every number was encored enthusiastically and they clamored for more. William Alexis and Delia Schall, 3 shows, 11 min. in 2--In singing, dancing and acrobatic contortion. The contortion work of Alexis is good, and from a 3-a-day standpoint, makes an excellent act for this house. The McBans, 2 shows, 10 min. in 2--Two men, club jugglers. First time here. One of the best acts of this kind we play. Punctuated with applause all through. Excellent act for any spot in this house. Delberg Sisters, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Costume change singers and dancers. Did not go very well in this spot. It is a little too stiff for them. They are good enough for an early 3-show act, and we will send them up the bill tomorrow. Zazell and Vernon, 2 shows, 15 min. open full stage, close in 1--Two men and two women. In a comedy acrobatic pantomime, "The Elopement". It is a good act for this house. Got considerable applause at the finish. "Chalk" Saunders, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--In his unique specialty, "Physogs". Well-known on the circuit. He went very well in this spot and got considerable applause at the finish. Foy and Clark, 2 shows, 15 min. in 3--In the comedy sketch, "The Old Curiosity Shop". They played here Feb. 6, and practically the same people saw the act then, as today. We don't want them here again with the same act for a year at least. George W. Day, 2 shows, 19 min. in 1--Well-known blackface comedian and parody singer. Most of the material used today he had on his last appearance here, and as then it did not draw much applause from the audience. His last song got them and he went off with considerable applause. Frederic Voelker, 2 shows, 20 min. open in 3, dlose in 1--Act has been commented upon from other houses. He is an excellent violinist and were it not for the fact that we have an overabundance of music in the Fadettes, he would undoubtedly create quite a sensation. Terley, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage--This act consists of a head and bust of a man exhibited in a cabinet; a woman procedes to make up the features to represent well known historical characters. Went quite well and got considerable applause at the finish. {covered by over sheet} during the stay of the Orchestra here. One hour's playing by them is certainly enough of that kind of amusement in a program. Very good Monday audience considering the weather and we will probably do a good business for the balance of the week.
