TEMPLE THEATER, Detroit, Mich., July 31, 1905.-J. H. Finn. ^[215] THE CLARKONIANS- Three men and two beautiful horses. This act is inferior to the riding act of Helen Girard or The Wentworth's. Two of the men do graceful riding, and the third furnishes comedy of the most mediocre kind. 8 min. F. S. Terese Dorgeval - One of the best single singing turns that ever appeared on this stage. As a singer she can be compared to Mme. Slapoffski but of course she is far better looking and more magnetic. 6 min. with the plush and a piano, 3 min. in one. ELLIS-HOWLIN TRIO - Two men and a woman in a comedy-acrobatic act of average worth. 6 min. F. S. 5 in one. CROTTY TRIO- Two women and a man in a singing and dancing act. This act, I think, would be all right for the supper show of the eastern theaters but is not strong enough for this theater. 15 min. F. S. "WISE MIKE."-- Foster's dog did not work as well this time as he did on his former appearance here. This act is all right to open a show but is not strong enough for any other place on the bill. 17 min. in one. FREDERICK BROS. AND BURNS- The same set, word for word, as they presented here on a former occasion. But it is a good musical-comedy act and went strong. 16 min. F. S. 6 in one. GIRARD & GARDNER-- Eddie Girard and Jessie Gardner presenting "Dooley and the Diamond." Although this act has been seen here on a number of occasions it went very strong. 27 min. F. S. BEN WELCH- Hebrew comedian. A very good act of the kind. 15 min in 1. COMMENT A VERY GOOD SHOW FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
