22 32 2. WORLD COMEDY FOUR,Vocalists:- 21 min. in 1. 2 shows. Three men working straight and one eccentric. Very acceptable in this place on the bill. Singing is good and the selections likewise. There is considerable fun, in this act, some of it of the rough and tumble order, but it all went well, for the people were hungry for laughs. The lines are fairly good and bright, but the singing is the main feature. The audience seemed pleased with this act. It would be much improved if they would cut a deal of the comedy and stick to the straight singing. ROSE COGHLAN, "The Ace of Trumps."--22 min. F.S. 2 shows. Received a good advance hand. Miss Coghlan is beautifully gowned. The theme is rther disagreeable, being the disclosures of a woman of the London half-world,seeking by intrigue to gain social recognition. Thwarted by the discovery of her husband's escape from prison whither he was sent through her treachery. The first half of the act was rather slow and talky, but warmed up to an interesting climax. The finish was big. Think she would go better with the evening houses. WILLARD SIMMS, "Things I have seen on the Stage":- 23 min. F.S. 2 shows. Open and close in 1. This act contains some new and clever material. It is rapid in spots and held the interest of the house. Miss Conrad is a very pretty woman and materially helps the act,but she does not sing well. Got by quite well, however, but created no enthusiasm. W. C. FIELDS, Juggler:- 18 min. F.S. 2 shows. The work is not only expert, but its comedy is good and keeps the audience in good humor. Each one of his feats got laughter and applause. He missed many of his stunts and was compelled to try them over, often six or eight times. This detracted from interest in a general way. However, there weresurprises enough to carry the act to the finish, which was O.K. Has a great many friends here and will draw. Will make him close the show hereafter. CHARLIE CASE, Monologuist:- 15 min. in 1. 2 shows. Case has a good line of stuff, but it is of too quiet an order. Whereas he got good attention and the laughs were frequent, there was little in his work to get a big hand, even at the finish. He may do better to-night, but his work lacks the spirit and dash. TEN JI TROUPE, Japanese Magicians:- 23 min. F.S., close in 1. 2 shows. Make a fairly good appearance, but not quite up to the standard of the high class Oriental act, either in dress or skill. The magic which these people do is not new, but all is cleverly done, and they got considerable applause. It is altogether too quiet an act as a closer on the bill. Will be shoved up further to-night. KINETOGRAPH:- TERRIBLE KIDS:- Fairly good comey series. THREE AMERICAN BEAUTIES:-a rose, a girl and American flag. 3. Hunting series that were left over as a substitute. Not particularly brilliant films this week. FERRERO & DOG . . . . . . 9.25 WILLARD SIMMS. . . . . . . 9.35 W. C. FIELDS . . . . . . . . . . 9.52 KINETOGRAPH. . . . . . . . 10.10. 10.30.
