60 JULY 16, 1906. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C. E. BARNS. EVELYN SISTERS, Songs and Dances:- 11 min. in 1. 3 shows. Nicely dressed little sister-act. Their singing and dancing is fair, their dancing the better of the two, and won applause. Make a good presentation and held the place. Went off to a fairly good hand. MYERS AND ROSA, Disc Manipulators:- 11 min. in F.S. 3 shows. These people make a very natty appearance and their work with the plates and discs is quite clever. They received good hand for their various stunts. O.K. MARKEY & MORAN, Eccentric Character Conversational Comedians:- 15 min. in 1. 3 shows. Both eccentric, one dressed as "Tommy Atkins" and the other as a Scotch soldier. Good line of army talk and considerable fun throughout. Some parts of it went rather slow, but on the whole it passed muster. The songs interspersed, and also at the finish, were particularly commendable. Held down the place quite acceptably, and got a good hand at the close. ARTHUR DEAGON & COMPANY, "The Perfect Man":- 20 min. F.S. 2 shows. These are two clever people. Miss Bennett has a very inferior part, and is too young for the role compared with Deagon. Deagon takes the role of the physical culture professor, although he is somewhat shy in his tough dialect. Bronson is at first the postmaster and afterwards a dude in search of physical development There is some good singing and a good deal of bright talk all through. The theme is a new one to Vaudeville, so that it held the interest well. I was quite agreeably disappointed in the way this act went, for I was prepared for the worst. The thread of romance is rather slender. The dude applicant attempts to flirt with the girl whom the pugilist is to marry, and it looked as if there might be a good deal of rough and tumble comedy as a finish As it was, however, there was nothing overdone and the close was very satisfactory. There were scattered laughs throughout and at the finish there was a very good hand. I think this act will improve during the week, and get a good reception with the night audiences. The act is overpaid by $50.00 at least. It is not a late act,--8 o'clock being the limit. GRACE CHILDERS and her little dog "DOT":- 12 min. F.S. close in 1. 3 shows. Pretty little girl who makes a good presentation, and trains a clever little French poodle. The several stunts held attention, and there were some scattered applause. On the whole, the act made good here. SIX SOPHOMORES AND A FRESH MAN:-20 min. F.S. close in 1. 2 shows. Hearsay had not given us much encouragement on this act, but in some respects were agreeably disappointed. The six girls make a pretty appearance, although the singing and dancing is rather crude and amateurish. There is a lot of action and fun in this feature, and the applause was liberal throughout. Their songs are well selected and the dancing of Harry Pilcer took the gallery. This is by no means a big act, but it will take with the young people, and as compared with other girl-acts, is very desirable--at that price. Altogether KINETOGRAPH feature is quite up to the standard. Edsal & Forbes ...8:24 Bailey & Fletcher...8:45 Nellie Beaumont & Co....9:00 Zazell-Vernon Co....9:20 Toy Claude...9:35 St Onge Brothers...9:52 Kinetograph...10:15 10:30.
