Zazelle and Vernon, 2 shows, 14 min. full stage--In the acrobatic pantimime [pantomime], "The Elopement". Too well-known to need description from me. Scored laughter and applause throughout and got a big hand at the close. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 1. The Holiday. Fair comedy 2. Arrival and Departure of Trains. Just a filler. 3. The Rajah's Casket. Long colored film; too long--it gets tiresome. This week's films are hardly up to the usual run. Wire Trio, 3 shows, 9 min. full stage--Three women, in Hungarian dances. They make a very good appearance with their "flashy" costumes, and as they were distinctly apart from what we have had of late, they went well in this poor spot. Anderson and Coines, 3 shows, 18 min. in 1--"Real coon" singers and dancers, and quite clever ones at that. Were it possible I would not hesitate to put them in the 2-show division. Delmore and Darrell, 3 shows, 12 min. in 1--Man and woman, in vocal specialties, including an imitation of Carroll Johnson. From the standpoint of this house, it is merely a supper show act. The imitation is fairly well carried out, but the voices of neither would win them any medals. Comment:- The show is a satisfactory one for a summer bill. The day, as for the past week, was extremely humid and disagreeable and neither performer nor audience were disposed to applaud or to be over strenuous in causing applause. It should be distinctly understood that these reports are based on what is apparently the verdict of the Grand Jury who pay their money and are the ones to be satisfied. Bostonians, as far as my knowledge carries me, are the hardest to be "bluffed" and not backward in applauding that which they like.
