2. Mr. Carson and Miss Beringer is finished and forceful. The sketch held the attention from the start. It seemed a little out of place after so much tom-fool comedy, but nevertheless the crowd soon got on to its artistic value, the strong motive of the play, and its brilliant and logical finish. It has certainly made good here and will undoubtedly do so wherever presented. I predict it a hit with out evening audience. KINETOGRAPH: MARRIAGE OF KING ALPHONSO XIII OF SPAIN AND PRINCESS ENA OF BATTENBURG:-10 min. One of the best films of an historical event ever presented. We needed an act in one, as we were very shy to set full-stage acts; but even so, this film is worthy of a place in the body of the vill. It shows King Alphonso XIII and Princess Ena of Battenburg brilliantly, and the audience was worked up to a high point of interest, so that when the King and Queen marched down the marble steps to the strains of Lohengrin, there was prolonged applause and at the finish there was also a good hand. COOK & MADISON, Eccentric & Acrobatic Comedians:- 17 min. F.S. open and close in 1. 2 shows. Carry their own drop. Both work tramp make-up. There is a good line of talk to open, and thereupon follows some excellent acrobatic work. There is a lot of knockabout comedy that kept the crowd in roars of laughter. The burlesque sharp-shooting, in 1, at the close, is one of the funniest stunts imaginable. These people are certainly A.1. in their line. DIXON & ANGER, "The Baron & His Friend":- 16 min. in 1. 2 shows. German comedy. There is plenty of nonsense in this feature, but it suffered after the rollicking knock-about work of the previous acts. There are some bright hits, and at the close was fairly strong. Without so much other comedy on the bill these people would have made a much better impression. THE THREE PONAYS:- Did not appear as scheduled and a substitution was made in COOK & SYLVIA, which act will be reported on from the evening show. CAMPBELL & JOHNSON, Comedy Bicyclists:- 22 min. F.S. 2 shows. Carry their own drops. One works tramp and the other sailor clown. I think any sort of a bicycle-act is as much a has-been as the bicycle is itself,--except, I might say, when there are introduced as many amusing novelties as these clever people put into their act. They introduce a series of very amusing feats on various kinds of bicycles and unicycles and hold the interest of the audience for about twice the length of an ordinary bicycle-act. There is no end of rough-and-tumble fun, and a good closing feature for any show. KINETOGRAPH: A ROYAL SPANISH BULL FIGHT:- Part of the Royal Marriage film is in the body of the bill, showing a real bull fight, but eliminating many of the disgusting features. It certainly holds the attention of the audience throughout. BUTTERFLY CATCHING:- A good comedy film, though a little faky. Amused the children very much.
