88 GRAND OPERA HOUSE PITTSBURG, PA. AUGUST 20th, 06. BEN BEYER-Comedy Bicycle Act. 12 minutes, garden. 3 shows. I consider this a very good act among the three a days. BELLE VEOLA- Olio in one. Vocalist and acrobatic contortion dancer 12 min. Miss Veola is not a good vocalist but she looks well and her contortion work is very fair. Taking the act as a whole, I could recommend it among the three a days. MARY DUPONT & CO.-15 min. Interior. Comedy sketch-"Left at the post". Only a fair sketch-played fairly well. FOUR CARTMELLS-20 min.-opening in one 5 min., then to interior, closing in one 2 min. This was formerly Cartmell & Harris who have added two more people to the act which, in my opinion, has almost ruined it. The four act does not begin to be as good as the two act and I think they should be advised to go back to the old act, which always went big with us. MORIN'S MILITARY BAND-30 min. Would not care to recommend this band for vaudeville. HINES & REMINGTON-Special drop-20 min. in one. While much of their material is new, the act is along the same line as their old one. They are going very good with us. STEIN-ERETTO FAMILY-Comedy acrobats. 15 min. Interior. This family do some very difficult work. If they would dress the act a little better and cut out some of the alleged comedy, I think it would be among the best acts of the kind in the business. SELMA BRAATZ-12 minutes, garden. Juggling. This young lady is a big hit here, doing many of the difficult tricks performed by Salerno and does them equally as well. I consider her a great act-one that will stand special billing. ELEANOR FALKE-Singing comedienne. 10 min. Olio in one. Miss Falke is going fully as big with us this week as during former engagements, which was very good. WALTER JONES & MABle HITE-22 min. Int. Comedy sketch introducing singing and dancing. This act is going very well with us-especially Miss Hite. FRANK BUSH-Monologue-16 min. Olio. Mr. Bush has a few new stories and a number of old ones which seem to please very much. WALTER TRUEMAN-Comedy juggler. 3 shows-12 min., garden. Does very well among the three a day acts. MALVENE & THOMAS-Singing and dancing. 12 min., olio. A neat little sister act which will do fairly well for the three show section. KINETOGRAPH-Scenes in Burmah "Spring Fairy". "Wet Paint". All very good. JOHN P. HARRIS.
