#2.- MEREDITH SISTERS, Comediennes:- 13 min. in 2. Open and close in 1. 2 shows. Two very pretty girls in brilliant changes of costume. They sing very well and their dancing is finished and swift. The chief charm of the act is the brilliant costuming. Received big applause at the finish of each one of their songs and were compelled to respond to an encore and two curtain calls at the close. This act is O.K. for this difficult place on the bill, and is a pleasant surprise for that reason. O.K. SELMA BRAATZ, Lady-Juggler:- 13 min. F.S. 2 shows. this little girl is certainly a wonder. She might well be called "the female Salerno", not at all to her disparagement. Her work is swift and sure, and she does a great many of Salerno's feats quite as brilliantly as himself. She has not a comedian helper, this place being taken by her mother, who might better resign to some one more attractive. Miss Braatz's work is certainly "the goods", and each one of her stunts got big applause. The finish was immense. She received two curtain calls and strong ones too. If she has the physical strength to stand the strain, she will certainly outdistance any one of them as a billing feature, for the fact that she is a woman is a big novelty. Of course, her work is largely imitative, but she has the genius of the first rank. She will go down the bill. GEO. W. DAY, "In Cork":- 15 min. in 1. 2 shows. Well known here. His material is new and it was a running stream of laughter throughout. The close was strong. Day is good for any place in 1 on the bill. "RAIN-DEARS":-25 min. F.S. 2 shows:- Owing to the fact that this was the first presentation, it did not go as swiftly and strong as it will later. The material is there all right, and when everything is in working order will pull up. The audience did not know exactly how to take this act, but the musical features and the dancing got a good hand on each occasion, as they well deserved. The transformations are well conceived and when the mechanical part runs more smoothly, it will be a sensation. The act includes a snow storm and finishes with a rain storm with real water sprinkling from above upon the seven girls in rain coats. It is very effective and certainly novel. Will give a supplementary report on this act. It will close the show to-night. HINES & REMINGTON, "The Manicure Girl":- 20 min. in 1. 2 shows. Man and woman both working straight. This was a very hard place to hold after The Rain-Dears, and it was not strange that their act went mildly at first. However, there were a good many laughs, for the material is good in spots, and the finish was O.K. They carry their own drop. FOUR MELVIN BROTHERS, Hand Acrobats:- 14 min. F.S. 2 shows. Fine looking young men who understand their business thoroughly. Their work is in the nature of that of the Four Bards. It is fast and expert. It includes some of The Bards' own feats, which won a big hand. Each one of their feats caught the house, and the close was quite as strong as that of The Bards. KINETOGRAPH, DANGERS OF CARPET BEATING:-Not a particularly interesting film. Just about passes. TWO BRAVE CHILDREN:- Rather fakey series, but rapid in action and holds the interest. PERSONAL:-A film that has been seen here before and ran three weeks for its popularity. It saves kinetograph feature from falling below the usual standard of merit. T. J. Keogh & Co....8:14 Hines & Remington...8:35 Four Melvins...8:51 Meredith Sisters...9:00 Selma Braatz...9:13 Geo. W. Day...9:27 Rain-Dears...9:45 Kinetograph...10:10 10:30
