99 --(2)-- lot of singing and dancing with a few lines. The act is a relief form the rough vaudeville and I presume will appeal to the better class. The little comedy phrases in the act is entirely English and unknown to the American audiences, but this can be very easily remedied by work. While it did not bring forth a lot of big applause, I fully believe that they were appreciated. Centre door--drop in two GEO. W. DAY: This man has an entirely new lot of material. All of it is very good and secured a bit lot of laughs. Negotiated this spot in great shape. 15 min. in one - 2 shows MAE EDOUIN & FRED EDWARDS: First appearance here in years. Well known over the circuit. In their character comedy, entitled:- "A Bachelor's Dream." All of Miss Edouin's changes were strongly applauded. They hold their own here in great shape, and finished to big applause with four curtain calls. 26 min.-full stage EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR: The singing of this quartet is very good, the voices blending nicely. Some of the comedy is pretty punk and on the rough-house order. The holiday crowd thought them immense and thereby making a tremendous hit. 21 min in one. HOUDINI: This man's reception to-day was very big, lasting for fully half a minute. His hand-cuff work was watched with great interest and secured some little applause. Finished the act with the trunk trick, which carried him off fairly good. On the second performance, he escaped from the strait-jacket, which brought forth a tremendous applause. At the evening performance, all of his work went much stronger. He held the attention of the audience and finished very strong. We have quite a number of excellent advertising schemes on hand to boom this fellow, although it is pretty hard to say, on account of the holiday, as to his drawing-power, but I presume from the general comment and interest taken in his pictorial display, that he will hold his own. 23 min. KINETOGRAPH: "The Magician" Don't account to much. Will change "The Lone Highwayman" Very interesting "Mr Smith's Bad Luck" Fairly good comedy
